disk space required - 16gb... ouch

the good thing is that the dollar is weakening so USD denominated transactions are cheaper for us - yay!

I wish they would offer different indie games in the indie bundles.. already have everything except for "and yet it moves" from previous indie bundles.

The new telltale pack seems interesting although like edison i've yet to finish sam and max s1+2 from the christmas sale.. tough choice since alan wake and red dead redemption are out this month and i'm trying REALLY hard to cut down on game spending.....

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 25 2010, 01:13 AM)
There are 2 types of GFWL DRM, SSA and non-SSA. SSA DRM is like Steam, that your keys are tied to an account, while non SSA have limited activations that cannot be redeemed back.

Say if you put UK when you registered initially, and you move back to Malaysia, any SSA games are as good as gone,as you need UK IP to play the game. GFWL will refuse to login if you try to login from anywhere but UK.

This happen to me with DoW2 Beta and i took 1 day just to fix this. That is also why my GFWL account's name is Cheesenium2, as Cheesenium is tied to Australia only.

To prevent this from happening, you need to set your region as US when you first register at XBox Live where it grants you region free. My Cheesenium2 account logs in regardless of which country am i in.

Dont you see why i hate GFWL so much? I dont mind if they actually gave a warning for this so that you dont tie the key to the wrong account. The fact is,there arent any. Dont forget about the no-one-knows-how-many-activations DRM that GFWL enforce on non-SSA games like DoW2 and most games before late 2009.

This is incorrect. My GFWL id was set up in the uk. I have no problem playing all my GFWL games locally and online.

These SSA keys are only used by a few games so far, you must have only the non SSA games.

Cheese gave some links to some sources where it was confirmed about this whole SSA business, he got screwed up once with it and definitely know what he is talking about.

check my sig - bioshock2 and dirt 2 are two of the ones on pc that i know that actually have SSA. My other games with GFWL - batman:AA, SF4, Fuel, Dawn of war 2 and GTA4 (at least those are the ones i can remember). I actually have a UK GFWL/xboxlive account so i do know what i'm talking about.

For me, the only difference it makes on the pc is that i have to buy UK/euro MS points.

edit: you can't change region settings on your account but you can actually change regions (physically)

This is seriously bloody lazy of sega. No doubt some of these games are classics, but you would expect that with these games on steam they would integrate online play, steam cloud or steam achievements? lazy console port anyone?

Would be nice if they release Street of Rage / Bare knuckle series with network play.

funnily enough, to add to my point about SEGA being lazy, Streets of rage (and Golden axe from the steam sega package) is already available on xboxlive arcade with network play, achievements and so on.

square enix publish the game retailly

They don't just develop chocobo related games these days. Their strategy in recent years have involved building up a publishing portfolio. They also acquired Eidos in 2009. Other high profile games that they have published are Just Cause 2 and the forthcoming deus ex: human revolution.

seeing just cause 2 is directx 10 only, i hope deus ex human revolution will have directx 9 version instead of being directx 10 only.

Can anyone recommend any Strategy RPG games along the lines of final fantasy tactics that's available on steam? need to find something new to play during lunchtimes at work tongue.gif

edit: something playable on a 4 year old laptop with a geforce mobility 7400. so something old and cheap would be appreciated.

does getting half-life allow you to download half-life source as well? I tried registering my ori retail copy a while back to get it but i suspect that my brother used it to get cs so i never got to try the source upgrade.
