My CoolUniPack journey updated:

7-4-2010 Submit new application for TM Homeline and Streamyx, both under my name.
8-4-2010 TM contractors came to my house and installed the new TM Homeline. At night I called to 100 service line and been told that 10th April the Streamyx contractor will come and do the installation for me.
10-4-2010 Called to 100 service line again and get the latest status from them. Been informed that Encik Rahman is the installer and got his handphone number. Called to that handphone number, Encik Rahman nicely explained to me that today he can't make it because he have to come to my house to do some upgrading in order to get 4MB, and some people not working today so that he can't do the service for me. He will contact me again in the coming Tuesday to do the installation and upgrading. He also admitted that the order form that under my name and MIPS order name is now in his hand so no worry.

Just now I ask about the Unipack package at Jusco near bandar perda(penang).
Unfortunately they didn't have that package and I need to go to TM Point in BM(which is closed today).
Plus, they said that I can't install the 4mbps package bcos, here in Penang currently they didn't have the "carbon optic" cable. As far as I know, cable that carries data for the internet is Fiber Optic(correct me if I'm wrong).
Furthermore, they said that I can't subscribe the Unipack Package since I already have the 1Mbps streamyx combo.
May I know how true is those statements?

wtf ? i just applied homeline for my other house in order to subscribe this..
but as far as i know.. agents have no idea regarding this nor can they process applications like this..
so well ?

Just deal with HP US live chat, they are friendly, providing me all the factors may cause the problem and set me up a case ID. It was a lil bit unlucky that my notebook failed at the first startup, but since its free, i don't mind that much

finally, juz gotten my netbook...

but overall, usable - its FREE ma hehehe...
Hopefully wun encounter any error/problem...
will fmt it once i get myself an external dvd...
prefer clean windows w/o HP proprietary s.w running....

Better get the real information through the TM Point, that's the most accurate, but some are not.

My new homeline is installed with normal telephone line as we can see outside our home, not fiber optic if I'm not mistaken. According to them, my area have 4MB.

So TARC student no chance to enroll into this program? thanks

I want to apply through my friend's name. He's still studying and plus, 1st year at UCSI.

The things i should prepare is:

1) Get an application form
2) Fill in details of my friend and the place we stay
3) Prepare documents:
*IC
*Student ID
*Offer Letter (?)
3) Ask him to take the form to chop & signed at the Uni by student affairs
4) Submit the form at TMPoint.

Okay, I've got a few questions here. Can I bring the photostatted IC, ID card & Offer Letter to TMPoint to register by myself? Or should I bring along my friend to register too?

It's quite fussy and my friend is going to have Final soon. Just want to take one day of his time to deal with everything then settle, wait for ppl to come install the line.

Please advise if i missed any steps?

You may try because my college and my university name is not in their list, but now I got my approval already. I registered under my KDU College name, along with college chop, IC and student card are verified with school chop and signed, every running smooth.

one student can sign two unipack or not? as t&c didnt notice it...

should be can't le... logic... say u the oni 1st year student in your family, then u go help ur cousins, uncle, aunty, yi ma ku teh, etc...then imagine tis in larger scale done by other 1st & 2nd year helping ppl...

i am from ucsi too..
so, the offer letter, go to the registrar office, then fill up a letter acquisition form, then wait for 3 working days. then come back to collect the form after 3 days, that's what i do. The letter is to prove that i am second year student.
since ur fren is first year, u can jsut go to the registrar office, then ask the staff to print out ur fren admission offer letter will do.

and also, is the homeline under ur fren name too? then u need to photostat ur fren ic (the owner of the homeline ) and get the signature of the homeline owner

Because that Streamyx Agent are noob. CoolUniPack only can apply at TMPoint.

You should read the first post of the FAQ. If you still got contract remaining, you cant subscribe. If streamyx is not under your name, you cant subscribe.

As long you are either diploma or degree student and you are 1st/2nd year student, then you can apply. that sh1t list of the uni/coll is outdated already one.

you can go have a try. but according logically, one student card cant be apply more than twice. nobody know the exact answer for this.

Actually we planning to subscribe a new homeline. Since we have an existing line, We plan to subscribe the Unipack and when it is installed, we cancel the old streamyx line.
Now the Homeline and Streamyx is under my name. By terminating Streamyx, quarantine 30 days... very inconvenient!
I'd rather subscribe new one on my friend's name and wait when the new line got installed, we just switch to the new line and terminate the old account.

Plus, in one way we also get better speed.
Existing: Homeline RM25 + Streamyx 1mbps RM88 = RM113 (not including service charge).
Unipack: Homeline RM25 + Streamyx 4mbps RM88 = RM113 (Higher speed! Although it's not guarantee...)

That's why I want to re-subscribe!

RM88 is inclusive of phone rental.. means total u have to pay is RM88 for 4mbps..

FOR REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

Eh if the current streamyx line is under your name, you can direct switch to coolunipack without the termination for 30 quarantined days.
