this morning i heard from myfm morning news, saying that maxis might launch the iphone 4 on end of july.

i think it's august or september. since they recently tweeted that the iPhone 4 will be launched in the coming months (with s).

hi guys this maybe a dumb question but i really need to know if i buy a unlock iphone from uk and bring back to use maxis how is the data and call rate charge will it be call to uk charge? or local call rate charge? since the phone is uk spec will it only recognize uk as local?

you do realize that only a telco not a phone which charges for data or calls right? a phone is a device, an operator is the provider, this really is Mobile 101. to put it bluntly, maxis simcar, maxis chargeslah what has it got to do with Uk plans

Well...I might just wait for the Canadian launch, even if it might be 2-4wks behind the UK launch. The 100USD savings can buy me a lot of new apps. =)

But it would be nice to have it sooner....

I pre ordered the iPhone 4 in UK but i still don't know the procedures in picking up the phone. Any forumer did this before mind explaining? Cause my friend picking up for me.

no such thing as 'UK spec' phone. any GSM phones can be used with our local telco. iphone is a GSM phone. jz pop in a local simcard to enjoy local rate

The important area is the centre portion with the 2 parallel lines. I have cut up 2 sim card to test - both Digi and Celcom. To fit the slot I have to cut off slightly the top and bottom parts of the electronic area - works well does not affect the detection of the card. Is very easy to cut just use sharp scissors . Get a piece of paper put inside the micro slot card and pressed down the edges to get the size. Cut the paper down to size following the pressed marks. Put the cut paper on top of the sim card and use a pen or pencil to mark the cut points

THE NEW IPHONE screen protector gonna cost twice due to both side is made of glass.

Seriously, if people have the money to buy iPhone - the price of screen protector is the least they have to worry.

If preorder, it will be shipped to you. If you pick up in store on release date you need to get there and pick it up on the day itself or it will be gone the next day

i second this, no point being cheapskate here if you plan to fully protect your phone.
