Any ideal of platinum vs white gold?
Solitaire is ready. Was thinking to get platinum.
As Tiffany & co are platinum only.
Will think platinum will be nice or good?
Have no ideal... confused.gif

Definitely Platinum > White gold. Just that it has low resale value if you want to resell it in the future. Not that white gold is any better.

If can afford Tiff & Co, go ahead. Many naysayers will say better to get those diamonds and self design the ring for your own purposes.

While it may be cheaper for you to consider, I'd think that getting a rock from such stores matters.

Most of the ladies in office are wearing Tiff & Co rocks anyways from where I am sitting biggrin.gif

Guys, if i gonna spend RM10k on a proposal ring, is it necessary for me to get another ring for wedding?

I am not sure how this engagement ring and wedding ring works.

Essentially, 2 rings. But it is not necessary for you to be paying for the wedding ring tho. Since a wedding ring is for both bride and groom, you could either split or if your fiance is nice, she may offer to pay for the wedding band smile.gif And of cos if she is fine with it, one ring is alright too.

For engagement proposal, is it necessary to get diamond ring or any simple ring will do?

It really depends on your girl. But I think I can speak for most girls, it is quite expected to have a diamond ring. Lol. But like I said, most girls biggrin.gif

swarovski ok?

What do you think.

I mean I can just propose her with this ring first then later down the road when I am more financial stable I get her a proper diamond ring?

Why don't you tell her this instead :-

"Darling, I could buy you a crappy ring now and we can be happy. Or you can wait and I could buy you a tiffany few years down the road. All I ask is for your patience at this moment."

For me, if you're gonna do something, don't do it half assed. Proposal in once in a lifetime.

But if you really can't afford it, forget it lor. No point killing yourself over a ring.

Well, not necessary. A good ring doesn't guarantee a damn thing about happy marriage life.

I really can't speak for your gf. I would suggest you to talk to her about it? I personally wouldn't mind cos I believe the meaning behind the ring is what matters.

However, there's another form of diamond ring if you're interested to look into. Moissanite ring. It's really popular in the US and it's 20-30% cheaper than real diamonds. It's not popular in Malaysia yet but if you intend to get her swarovski, I think getting her a moissanite would be better. I actually wished I knew about moissanite before I got an engagement ring cos it's seriously beautiful!

You would have to order online but so far, I've not heard any issue on delivery.

Here's a few pictures of how it looks.

Very true! The most expensive ring doesn't symbolise a happy marriage too!

Either way, if you can afford it, you would've bought it.

Simple theory. I am okay to splurge. Others may not.

That's why we have this forum to voice out our opinions biggrin.gif

I was stupid the first time. Not going to be stupid the second time. GF now in tears of joy when I gave her a normal ring, while the ex-wife is like OK...with the expensive ring.

It really depends on your girlfriend..
I have a friend who proposed with a pandora ring and she was happy .. BUT of course that doesnt apply to every girl out there.
a diamond ring is smth u probably give once in your life . it signifies a lot.
If you can afford why not , your gf /future fiance will be happy
It need not be a big diamond .. u can also get a diamond ring at RM1k plus

What's ur budget limit?

Looks pretty good if it comes with a GIA cert.

VS1 is basically a non factor unless you microscope it.
