I'm surprise why lowyat forumer keep recommend 3kim
i read the good feedback at forum and decided to let them install grills of my landed house.

However the powder coat start rusty after 2 month installation and the sales girl doesn't respond at all after full payment done.
What a bad service.

May I know what kind of paint you choose? Normal spray paint or powder coating?

Apartment contractor quoted me 1,100 for yard and main grille. 3kim quoted 1,550 for the same thing. Both are powder coated

May I know why is there such a big difference in price? Will there be any issue if I go for the cheaper one?

Besides the hardware:
Materials (thickness and frame profile), welding of hinges, hinges used, padlock "ears".

The little things:
On time for appointment
No editing required (measurement cun cun).

I've seen alot of popcorn show of friends' new condo grille maker not following design, or other units' mismeasured grilles being way off with few finger gaps (inches off); not few mm off.
And I was stood up by a lousy bulk order group buy contractor that wasted my leaves waiting around for them to come to remeasure.

I did a double layer custom job with removable "security mesh" for about 2k main door only. With uprated material and frame (due to stupid flawed mandated design).

Did from 3kim too.

1.2mm - rm18
1.0mm - rm12

Is this per sqft price?
So if a window 6x5ft will be about rm540.
vs same size using Panther mesh rm2820.

Am I right to compare that way?

Decided to go with threekim after few quotations from other contractors are about the same price. And threekim has good reviews here in lowyat.

Taking measurement this Saturday

yo, I actually shortlisted panther and arxtech after some comparison (though just surveyed 4 suppliers in total).

All produce quality products, but personally, I like panther for its mesh windows' function and features....n yea.... only mesh window..... For arxtech, their mesh window is not bad, wif some thoughtful design too..... together with optima window, more choices n style....

If i only nid to do mesh, wud go for panther..... sweat.gif

yea, in the end have decided to go with optima & arxtech for the balance of mesh and window..... due to the varieties of window they r having.... n more choices on appearance..... sweat.gif
(Also mom like their winblind window for kitchen..... laugh.gif )

doh.gif due to mco, now not sure when will be my renovation starts.....

Arxtech would be my choice as well if they have 0.9~1.0mm mesh thickness, 1.2mm is a bit over and make the price higher, more security though sweat.gif

Renovation should be doable even in this MCO, my KC installation start next week and they never mentioned there's delay about the date.

When installing grille that comes with multipoint locking, pay close attention to the catch that is installed on the frame side. In my experience with Arxtech, the worker didn't do a good job n I later notice some catch didn't hook into the locking paw which makes then useless. The catch is installed on site n worker just eyeball the whole thing. Because the tolerance is so small (catch n paw size is small margin) most of the point didn't hook properly. Quite disappointed on this.

Mind to share how’s the experience dealt with them? I’m considering to hire them for my metal works too after all those good words in LYN here.

Very satisfied with their workmanship. Ordered two weeks ago, managed to get it done before lockdown.

powder coated mild steel or Stainless steel will be good enough.

aluminium waste of money I think, if the grille is supposed to be your security barrier. https://www.rsgsecurity.co.uk/blog/more-faq...uminium-grilles

that 5k should cover main door and all windows easily, exclude balcony multi doors

I was thinking all in for around 8 to 12 windows
2 door and 1 yard. Not sure is possible.
Need to install a peephole camera also 🙃
