QUOTE(hellfire8888 @ May 22 2010, 03:41 PM) Well the max TDP for the ULV i7+Intel HD is 18W.. which is like Intel SU4100/SU7300 10WTDP + xW TDP of the Intel GMAMaybe not much difference at all.. I wonder if the ULV i7 can be OCed or not? I don't mean Turbo Boost.. This post has been edited by Eugene91: May 22 2010, 03:59 PM |

You'll need to change the whole mobo since the chipset would be different and processor socket too..

QUOTE(teikwing @ May 22 2010, 02:46 PM) err that soon? would wait for a real world benchmarks to see the increase over the performance with the C2D since after all, the new i3/i5 are still ULVs. They say most probably will be i3/i5. Because i7 ULV cost is quite high, if they include it on m11x will cause m11x price match with m15x price which is something will not happen. Only hope for current user is , if dell design the new mobo and port same size with the current one. Then it will have at least a little hope for current user to change the entire mobo. |

QUOTE(ff8ong @ May 22 2010, 04:16 PM) They say most probably will be i3/i5. don't worry about the cost will touch M15x. the most common solution for that is lower down the current price. like my case M17x-R1. i did brought it around 11k, but once M17x-R2 come out, my specs already around 8k (before C2D and C2Q is kicked out from options)Because i7 ULV cost is quite high, if they include it on m11x will cause m11x price match with m15x price which is something will not happen. QUOTE(teikwing @ May 22 2010, 05:51 PM) by self-replace, you mean you upgrade the system personally right?so nope. your warranty is limited to your initial specs. only RAM and HDD is the upgradable part. i email head of technician a years ago when wanted to upgrade my processor from Q9000 to QX9300. but Putochip123 claimed is can be done under the warranty. i don't know about that, but what i know my source is kinda solid to be trust, not just by word. |

QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ May 22 2010, 05:59 PM) by self-replace, you mean you upgrade the system personally right? as long as u keep ur original parts, even if u change thing inside, the tech come to your house they will not know the part u had change.so nope. your warranty is limited to your initial specs. only RAM and HDD is the upgradable part. i email head of technician a years ago when wanted to upgrade my processor from Q9000 to QX9300. but Putochip123 claimed is can be done under the warranty. i don't know about that, but what i know my source is kinda solid to be trust, not just by word. for example, u upgraded HDD, 1 day ur HDD(u bought urself 1) spoil, then u call for warranty, tech come ur house will just replace the HDD(u bought ur self). when they gone back to thier warehouse, they key in the parts of the HDD(u bought urself), they detected is not HDD from Dell, they will send u a Letter as u to paid for the parts u had been replace. if u refuce to pay for the parts they had been replaced for u, they will send u another letter(lawyer), then u will get into trouble.... Added on May 22, 2010, 6:38 pmBefore u wanna change parts urself, always remember to keep the original parts. if u had sold the original parts, just make sure the parts u had replace is not faulty, when ur system got any problem, and the problem is due to ur parts that u had replace. send the parts u had replace to the retailer to claim warranty, not from Dell Added on May 22, 2010, 6:40 pmPossibility of Proccessor, RAM spoil is vry vry small..... i swear, if u change ur proccessor, wont void ur warranty, if they say voided warranty, send to me, i claim for u(FOC) This post has been edited by putochip123: May 22 2010, 06:40 PM |
