Checked and confirmed, you cannot CLS with D3 body alone without the help of a commander unit like SB-900 or SU-800.
You can disable the pop up flash. It will flash for triggering, but does not affect the image output.

Hey celciuz, im curious how to do this. Mind teaching? XD

oooh... im not well verse bout CLS...
anyway, 1 thing for sure is that D90 cant triggered SB900 "radio"ly... hmm.gif

It sends TTL signals to the flash units using radio. But trigger is done with flash.

Set your flash to Commander mode. Inside you will see settings for your pop up flash, group A and group B. Just disable away the pop up flash. Make it to '--'.

Great! Just tried, it did fire flash though but the effect of pop up is minimized. Thanks!

Try shoot further away from the subject, it would be almost no effects at all.

Not too bad I guess? I didn't use it long enough for a review tongue.gif.
Weird, if EV-6, your shutter should increase in shutter speed to reduce the light intake.

Or maybe the table is inverse ?

jz read sumwhere says that the pop up flash actually not 'flashing'
the flash u c is actually the infra red signal

Err but i can see the difference if i turn on/off the flash (without external flash). The one with pop up is still a bit bright and i shot it infront of my dark LCD, can see a slight reflection of light.

But it doesn't matter lah, good enough already. When I upgraded my nissin's firmware then maybe can get a wireless trigger =D

o.O try if you can control the TTL through the flash compensation for the groupings or not. That is what the CLS is for. You can adjust flash power, compensation etc from the body itself.

That's freaking cool, really a "creative" light system.

Hey guys, i notice my kit lens is becoming loose from time to time, the zoom ring at 1st very stiff now become smoother already. When i zoomed to 105mm, i push the front of the lens it can zoom out to 18mm without turning the zoom ring. Does you all's lens zoom ring loosens with time?

Definitely have to avoid doing that, our lens probably designed to take rotary force instead of axial force tongue.gif. Might break some stuffs inside if done too often haha!
