Definitely, fungus can grow at those dark areas especially. Our humid weather is just perfect for them.

Yeah especially if it is seldom used. Best to keep it in a dry box or a container with silica gel but you also need to change the gels often. Once in a while bring the lenses out to sun it a bit.

I wanted to buy this used lens which looks veri new, but the owner says he seldom use it n kept it in lens pouch in the drawer when not using it, age is 2 years, so I really afraid there is fungus growing in it even I cant see it with naked eye >.< please advise, price is really attractive to me after nego.

if u cant spot the fungus with naked eye, then i think its okay lor
no need so pening , just go check the thing first
If not satisfied with it, just learn how to say sorry and walk away
last time i use to be so nice, when i ask for cod
come out and meet, i ll sure buy
But after i met 1 terible len owner bring me a len with the rear cap,
my gf wont allow me to buy even if price is low
She say what s the point of u buying something that u regret buying?

take your 18-55 kit len and try ,
the back of the lens facing the bright sky , with 1 finger pulling the aperture blade wide open
with this way u can see clearly on the conditions of the glass at the front.

thats the way how i check the lens.
i cant accept any finger print and scratch on the lens.
A good user/seller should know how to keep their lens
I always clean my stuff before i show it in cod.
(there are once when a malay kid wanna borrow normal meal tissue
paper to clean out the lens because i complain very dirty
i was like ????? then i say i think we can forget it lar bro.
