35mm on D40, good? Recommended?
*
a must have combination for the entry level nikonian as its a non build in focusing motors

its a 50mm on the d40 body. Only the high apertures can give u the feel of a DSLR.

any1 using Octopus drybox here?
i saw sm1 selling RM280 for 25L Octopus drybox.
got lifetime warranty. maybe i'll get 1.
anybody knows d website for Octopus products? i try to google but non found.
*
i m using the sun dry 38 liter brand.
Only the brands are different, its basically the same thing and all made in taiwan if i m not mistaken.
I heard about this optopus dry box and find it very interesting.

nothing to lose because it is lifetime warranty. But try ask what kinda stuff it covers.
If its for the digital meter = very good to resist.

dont buy the small one, try get the second smallest 1 like 30 L or the 40 L

oh ok thx alot^^ small pack o need few packets? how long will it last?
*
sooneror later, u ll need to invest on the dry box, the cheapest 1 would be like rm200++
rm 200+ to keep your rm2k++ equipment wo

i know a few friends where they bought those fish tank with the silicon gel eventually throw away or put aside.

if you use your camera alot, shouldnt be any problem. ( fungus rarely grow)

try clean your lens when u can after use.

just dont throw it aside and leave it for months.

my d40 got dust on sensor d...
is it enough to use the blower to blow off the dust?

can i just use bulb mode to lock the mirror? but isnt it i need to press the shutter button all the time to lock the mirror?
*
If u wanna do self cleaning, u can try get the lens pen. If you not sure how to do it , go to nikon times square for light service.

u need a remote switch to use the bulb mode for long exposure, phottix do offer cheap remote as solution, with it , u can lock the mirror as long as u want in bulb mode settings.

18-55 and 55-200 combo is the way to go compared to Tammy 18-200.
*
haha why not sell the kit len and go for the 18-105 VR which cost less than rm1 k smile.gif
well if u really interested with taking birds or sport car /man photography then u ll need the 200mm
without the VR/VC its so hard to get nice pics especially for cigarette smoker like me tongue.gif

wen116 already mention not selling 18-55 because it is wen116's first lens. So 55-200 is the way to go biggrin.gif. 18-55 is a good kit anyways, worth keeping.

Haha, my friend's wedding was that way. There was a table of photogs (my group) and when he came in flashes was everywhere LOL. Just like celebrity getting married.
*
my wedding is on the Nov, i ll make an invitation and hopefully u can drop by with only your 70-200 for paparazzi shots and enjoy your food at the same time haha. doh.gif

i just canceled a photo shoot organize by LYN group due to some personal reason.
Will update when i get a confirm date smile.gif

How much is SB900 now?
And is Nissin for Nikon good?

depends on your budget mah, both got pros and cons
If u would force me to give an answer , i would say the one using the flash suxx if the outcome is bad doh.gif

Of course "the one using the flash suxx if the outcome is bad".
But then I want to know which one would the norms prefer to use.
Of course including the consideration of the pros and cons.
*
i m using the nissin di866 smile.gif
so far so good , i dont really do CLS
But sometimes i find nissin to be not that sensitive when i using my flash to trigger it
in using comander mode smile.gif
judging from the spec and power + the price, nissin still win it.
if u never use flash gun before, or your;re in doubt, u could purchase a normal cheap flash like
nissin di622 which cost like rm 420++ or
Nikon sb600 (rm 800++)
both the above model are almost same in specs
if u add a little on top of rm800++ the price of sb600 , u ll get Nissin di866(rm 850++) which is a challenger to
the SB 900 which cost more than rm 1400++.

Nissin di622 VS SB600

Nissin di866 VS SB900

Nikon is the best choices if money not an issue
Nissin is the best to consider for the price and specs.
Both brands are good of course to be consider for flash gun smile.gif

going for 70-200 f2.8 nikkor...  wub.gif just love the IQ,accuracy and also the VR for that lens..
*
haha i thought 17-55 2.8

yea after i try the 80-200 f2.8, i know its just quite hard to use the lens without the VR
same thing applies to the sigma 70-200 and the tamron 70-200.
well eventually zacks is getting close to his dream lens and gears hopefully
