98' godzilla was a fun movie. i enjoyed that movie. i know it wasn't fun for any godzilla fanatic. it was fun for me, i took it as an anonymous monster movie
If you think about it, it was a no-brainer: Legendary Pictures has signed up “Monsters” director Gareth Edwards to direct their reboot of the famous Japanese atomic lizard. He will now work with a writer on the big-budget project for Legendary and Warner Bros.
Edwards burst onto the scene with last year’s “Monster”, a low-budget sci-fi movie about giant alien creatures stomping around Mexico after a NASA satellite unwittingly brings them to Earth. The film was made on a low six figures budget, and kept most of the monster action off-screen aside from the occasional tentacle attack. The creatures, though, did show up at the end at a gas station, where the film’s two main characters were also shacking up.
Besides the upcoming “Godzilla” for Legendary, Edwards is also writing and plans to direct another sci-fi “epic” for “Wanted” director Timur Bekmambetov, who has gotten into the producing business in a big way.

The 1998 film poster is kinda fake though......made him look larger.
Looks great. Judging from the trailer, they are going for a more disaster movie feel. I got a feeling that we will not see clear fighting in this movie. It will be chaotic and close up cameras
Damnnnnn...I love how intense the trailer is and the music from 2001 really conveys the sense of dread. This movie definitely need to be watch in theater.
