QUOTE(Claire Farron @ May 8 2014, 10:13 AM) Damn, thought of booking imax tickets next wednesday but judging by this early review i better not. Dont want it to end up like cloverfield where we can only see the monster in a short period of time. Wanted it to be like pacific rim, but i guess the director like prefer to tease instead. |

QUOTE(tonYe @ May 13 2014, 01:53 PM) Watched it yesterday. It's slightly disappointing to me, far from satisfying but the last 30 minute compensates just enough. Nice review bro, just as i thought it would be. Well, will have to find out myself tonight. Hoping that the first hour and a half is not as boring as i thought it would be. Haha. |

Just got back, sadly i got to agree with tonye on this.
First hour is really boring, dull, and can consider unnecessary cause imo they could write it a lil bit better. I'm not really touched with the death of each character, i dont know too fast maybe? Dr.Serizawa role also macham tak ada pun tak apa. Overall what i interpret of this movie is "Monsters trying to mate and laid egg while a bunch of soldier decide to nuke them and yet changed their mind want to disarmed the nuke with Godzilla as a sideshow, yup sideshow." It doesnt satisfy me to see Godzilla on screen for about 10 minutes or less? Hoping for more Godzilla action. I rate this movie 3/5 purely for Godzilla showwww and i also respect the director cause portray Godzilla as anti-hero not like the previous version. Not to forget i got to agree with the japs that Godzilla is kinda fat in this movie, he look so cute and adorable. Haha. |

QUOTE(firedauz @ May 19 2014, 01:13 AM) Loved it. The director stated he want this to be a stand alone movie, a true Godzilla movie to be remembered for the rest of time. Tho the ending does look like a setup for a sequel. I hope they didn't do it. Unless they do 50-50 between human storyline and Godzilla, unlike this one can say 90-10. Godzilla has too little screen time. Too little, period. Even the MUTO has more screen time than Godzilla. Felt like the human storyline is so dull aside from Bryan Cranston brilliant performance. He saved this movie with his brilliant and believable acting. Though nobody mentioned this yet, so I'll say it: The way this movie ends, looks like a setup for a sequel Btw for those who watched the original 1954 movie, does Gojira has little screen time too? |

QUOTE(stormlcc @ May 19 2014, 12:23 PM) i am talking about the 'feel' of the movies, not the physical elements. the human struggle to keep him at bay or to destroy it, but at the same time to protect humans from the other Kaijus, some of them created by humans to destroy Godzilla. We need Godzilla to defend against human errors but at the same time we need him gone to survive. not to mention that the Kaijus / monsters from the jap version were more terrifying than these 2 in the american version, the jap concepts were totally weird AND scary. at first, this new movie's kaiju (before they came out of their spore or cocoon) is so awesome, the artists who designed the spore and sound effects got it right, after they came out it's just a national geographic kind of thing...... I agree with your opinion bro. |

QUOTE(stormlcc @ May 19 2014, 04:07 PM) Ahhh i see, good to know that. QUOTE(ZeneticX @ May 19 2014, 04:18 PM) hope they will do better with the sequel They should give em rights! Cant wait to see dem monsters with the latest CGI effect. i heard gareth edwards wanted to do something like Destroy All Monsters. hope Toho will give them the rights for the other kaijus eg King Ghidorah, Rodan, Mothra etc. no more boring MUTOs |

woahh! freaking awesome! definitely the best out of the series, this is like the "avengers / justice league" of the series. really really awesome CGI! solid 5/5 from me!
ps: leave your logic behind then u shud be able to enjoy the movie, if u think too much then u probably wont, nothing to "think" anyway since its a monster movie anyway. |
