Is it me or the CGI seem a little unpolished... still got time though.

Really like the direction they're taking, paying homage to the 'origin roots' of Godzilla.

All I can saw is wow... really going for that 'disaster' movie feel. And the visual effects keep getting better.

IMAX Poster for Godzilla



The trailers, the posters, the overall marketing for "Godzilla" has been spectacular.

Fingers-crossed it is going to do well with the critics, fans as well as the box office.

Sounds good. The element of survival triumphs all others... including the appearance of the monster itself. I don't mind one bit, heck, I really don't care if we see very little of Godzilla. Think "Blair Witch Project" - one of the best horror films of all time yet some hated it to bits because 'there was no ghost'.

I am going to watch "Monsters (2010)" today, I'll see how Gareth Edwards does it and at least know better what to expect from Godzilla.

Ok, still plenty of reviews to come but this is a great indication! Been refreshing RT.com for days. Phew...

Watched Gareth Edwards' "Monsters" (2010) the other day and loved it. It is more of a love story more than anything, set in a 'monster' infected zone. The on-screen appearance of the 'monsters' - less than a few minutes throughout 90 minutes! But it mattered not. The ending was exceptional and up for interpretation. With a fraction of the budget of "Godzilla", Gareth Edwards seems to be doing it right - - just like Neill Blomkamp. See the movie studio trend these days? Hire a not so well known director who has done an exception job in a much smaller movie.

Immediately "Godzilla" (from the trailers) seem to be doing the same - human story > monsters. If this is the case, I can understand the RT score, haven't read any of it.

Planning to watch it in IMAX for the best monster effect...

Love the final poster btw, hats off to the marketing/ad team. Exceptional job thus far.

RT score rising! Currently 89%. Watching it on Sunday, IMAX 3D. Recommend watching "Monsters" to get an idea of what Gareth Edwards' style is.

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. If I were to nitpick, probably the military scenes were a bit more extended but apart from this, FREAKING AWESOME.

The direction taken with this version of Godzilla is incredible.

Watched it on IMAX 3D - - breathaking. When 'Gojira' first appeared.... wow.

Quite possibly the best film I've seen for 2014 (Lego, Cap America, Muppets, Spidey were the others).

P/S: Saw the trailer for "Interstellar" prior to the film... An absolute must to see it in IMAX.

Looks incredible .. titans vs. titans... One can imagine what it would be like for Kong vs. Godzilla 😂

Hmm... too bad, 50% RT only...

I think it succumbed under the "heavy" load of monsters in just 1 flick.

I can imagine it as an all out monster-bash-em'-up with little to no care for the plot.

Could have been epic with the classic monsters given a modern makeover, the trailer certainly gave that.

I guess it's a pass for me...

Now hoping "Dark Phoenix" delivers.
