just curious why we cannot enjoy F1 in HD quality...is that the system used are not in hd or what?
FIA has no money to buy HD camera, they spend all their money on Champagne LOL
@qash-M check first both f-connectors are tightly screwed
my signal is around 244, check first both f-connectors are tightly screwed, if no good then try to re-terminate both f-connectors, search google for instructions, if still no good, change rg-6 cable

try complaining to astro, saying something like the installer did not do the job properly by changing to new cable, and you demand that the problem must be fixed without paying the RM50 service charge, good luck
did the installer leave you with 20m brand new cable? you could ask you local electrical shop to install the cable for you may be paying a cheaper install fee.

my installer was using the new cable together with the old one due to my unit is quite far from my dish but i still enjoy hd quality on my plasma tv without any lack of the quality.
cable join will deteriorate satellite signal over time, using one piece cable is better
I am currently using the normal red/yellow/white RCA cables which only produce stereo sound. In order to get Dolby 5.1 (or higher) quality of sound, Astro's manual suggested "digital audio" cable. Can someone pls let me know where to get a ready-made cable that suits the connector in Astro.Beyond box? Tx
you need avr to get dolby digital sound, you can use any RCA cable to connect from your byond box coaxial digital output to avr
actually HDMI cable also carry digital sound, so you do not need to connect coaxial digital output, using HDMI cable connect from byond box to AVR then from AVR to HDTV

I am currently using Yamaha DVX-s100 sound system which does not hv HDMI port. I have tried to use existing RCA cable (i tried on red-coloured cable, then yellow) but it doesnt produce any sound. My Yamaha dvx port is labelled as "coaxial" and I just wonder what did I miss out for a normal RCA cable to work.
Tx in advance for any suggestion.
did you set the audio setting to dolby digital 5.1 in byond box?
yes i did set it to db5.1 but it didnt work. btw i had tried to use rg59u rca cable (labelled as for video) from Ace Hardware but it failed to produce any sound too.
pls help. tx.
from the yamaha amp user manual, you must next set your yamaha amp's sound mode to auto or digital
QUOTE(yamaha manual)
If you play a source encoded with a DTS signal and set the input mode to ANALOG, this unit may reproduce the noise of an unprocessed DTS signal. In this case, connect the source to a digital input jack and set the input mode to AUTO or DTS.

1. with byond, can I connect to 2 TVs? Both of them display same channel. 2. can new byond card been used at old decoder? 3. is the old card will be deactivated if i subscribe to byond? ..
I am dilemma either to or not subscribe HD. It is because I setup 2 TV with 1 astro. That is the main concern. . any1 can confirm this?
3 simultaneous video out are available, HDMI(max resolution 1080i), component video(576i), composite video (576i), to connect multiple HDTV via HDMI, buy powered HDMI splitter
byond card use on old decoder, I think can only get sound, no picture
old card must be surrendered to the installer

I dont know why, after I install astro b.yond, the rain fade problem is still there. There was never any changes from the old SD decoder. Heavy down pour or just abit rain, my signal will go off.
Why ?
to really tackle rain-fade problem, astro needs to give us 1m or larger dish, right now we are relying on puny 65cm dish
what is your signal strength for both measat 3 and 3a?
did the installer change your dish to dark grey colour dish?
are you using new cable? preferably one piece cable
technically, horn antenna is much more superior than parabolic dish, it can reject more noise
it can also double as fish bowl

Can the satellite feed will be treced?
mcmc have a fleet of multi-million dollars ultra-sensitive detectors on wheel, I think they can detect LO emitted from astro LNB, but I am doubtful how they can pin-point your LNB from million of astro LNB

Hahaha.. Look like your DIY antena is great because do not have to align properly to get a signal. Hope your LNB is not drown when rain is coming.
this is not my setup, I google searched it, belong to someone else in malaysia I guess. ' on the contrary, for horn antenna the alignment had to be very precise, that's why its has very high signal to noise ratio
rain is not an issue for LNB, siicon sealant pretty much take care of it

famous Holmdel horn antenna, constructed 1959, this looks even more bizarre, but it earn a Nobel Prize for Physics for George Gamow's and Abbe Georges Lemaitre in 1978 for discovery of microwave background radiation
this usually occur when you switch the box on from standby, seems like a bug from the begining, astro tried to fix the problem in the latest firmware update but failed
temporary fix is to press "tv" button on the remote, the current channel info will be back
or leave the box switch on for couple of minutes and all channels info will show
