cannot use centralised dish, must change to new dish because byond decoder is using higher frequency when viewing HD channels, request LNB with 2 connectors so that both decoders can operate without interference with each other

can, after they install byond and new dish, just bring your byond box to wherever there is a astro dish, byond box can use both old and new dish, if your place doesn't have any dish, ask your local electrical store+astro installer to install one for you, or you can buy astro dish cost about RM70 and diy

huh its good

we in Malaysia will be the first in Asia to watch all the matches on High Definition (HD) broadcast, with the newly launched Astro B.yond.

some other asian countries also have their worldcup matches broadcast in HD, such as Singapore, Hong Kong...

singapore, hongkong will have 2010 world cup matches in HD

I am not surprise other highly industrialised asian countries such as Japan and Korea will also have HD world cup broadcast

Singapore’s World Cup Dilemma
Singaporeans face the uneasy prospect of potentially being unable to watch this year’s football World Cup on television, as broadcasting negotiations with FIFA have hit a stalemate.  John Davidson argues why that result would be a massive own goal for both Singaporean football and FIFA.

StarHub scores broadcast rights to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™
All 64 matches ‘live’ across StarHub’s cable TV, online and mobile platforms. All matches available in high-definition

Singapore, 7 May, 2010 – StarHub today announced that it has secured the broadcast rights to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ to be held in South Africa and will offer all 64 matches ‘live’ across all three of its platforms – cable TV, online and mobile. StarHub will also make available all matches in high-definition. Viewers in Singapore can catch all the action with StarHub’s 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Package (the “Package”), available for purchase from 7 May 2010.

Mr Tan Tong Hai, COO, StarHub, said, “We negotiated hard for the World Cup rights for over a year, with the best interests of the nation at heart. in singapore's case, yes you need to "buy" to watch 2010 world cup, just like astro's video-on-demand

in malaysia, you have to subscribe to astro sport package in order to view world cup matches, unless you are watching world cup through terrestrial TV

if the monitor has hdmi or dvi input + HDCP, then you can watch the astro's HD channels

you also need to add amplifier + speaker for sound

Is this the normal dish or do I need special dish.
*
if you currently have 2 astro decoders and wanted to change one of them to byond, then you must request astro for a dish with 2-connectors LNB(low noise block)

the new dish is dark gray in colour and measured 65cm in size, slightly larger than old astro dish, larger size dish will capture more satellite signal

2-connectors lnb is in fact 2 LNBs combined into one casing, 2 decoders can be hooked up to the dish without interfere with each other when switching channels, especially the HD channels.
