bro..i put in the 1st line, then i only get mp-fremantle-g then i put in the 2nd line with the mp-fremantle-g, it says unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root , once my firmware is unknown, i found that i cannot access site with flash, it keeps asking me to install flash plugin.

I flashed my firmware to 1.2 dy, at 1st it was ok but after some application installed, this problem came out. Will this be cause by the application i installed?? Please help..thanks

you are using window xp or vista or 7 ?

Your pc should detect your N900 device is being set to flashing mode. On my Win XP, for a brief moment, a popup came up saying that it found a new hardware "Nokia USB Flashing Parent". I clicked "finish" button and the popup dissappeared and flashing commensed.

Try different pc yet?

After you pressed u & connected by usb port,check whether your phone is under "Update Mode"
You can check by going to Control Panel -> Device & Printer

after u flash to 1.2 yr fw show correctly ?

yeah..the firmware show correctly, until i installed some application, it turned to unknown...will it be Rdesktop or PYCallblocker? and i found out after the firmware is unknown..all flash website cannot run...

which 1.2 u use oh ?

even during 1.1 already have this problem, i just notice yesterday morning then i found out new firmware has already released..i flashed the new firmware and seems to be back to normal, until i installed application and i look back..it turn back to unknown

try again mp-fremantle. when u chk using xterm try use small font saiz 8 or 6 so u can see all the output and version on the xterm and make sure running as root.

Yes, that should be it. When you plugin USB, your PC should detect the phone and try to install driver. My driver installation failed but it still works just like mention in the blog steps.
Turn off you phone, hold the "U" key, plugin the USB with your phone still off, your phone will go into "restore" mode and your PC will detect the USB connection.

Perhaps your PC have problem with the USB? Or Windows 7/Vista problem? I'm using Window XP.
Or try using another PC?

Did you make sure your phone battery is charge to full? As I know if your battery is below certain level, it won't work either.

Added on May 3, 2010, 11:08 amDon't! It's strictly for hardcore or advance users who want to have a taste of MeeGo. This MeeGo is very very early release without any INTERFACE! It's command prompt version like X-Terminal (like MS-DOS), and many things aren't working.

Forget about MeeGo for now, why the rush? Just wait till it's finally release. There might be a dual boot option in future.

For now, it's more important current Maemo5 is refine and improve. PR1.2 have some fixes, but not really up to expectation especially since they delayed for so long.
Facebook Chat is now an integrated account in Contacts, but still no MSN, Yahoo, etc as default.
Previously those using other plugins will have headache to merge all the contacts all over again, unless you prefer to stick with the 3rd party plugins.

Still no MMS support with the current leaked PR1.2
No Contacts grouping.
No ringtone assignment to contacts/groups.
No enhancements to profiles.
No Video Call for 3G.
What else?

For SMS, now you have option to turn on "SMS only for mobile contacts". So, no more annoying prompt asking you to choose either mobile or home numbers when you send SMS. (In UK, I think, you can send text message to home phone).

Found a bit problem. During calling Voice Mail, the dialing pad is not working, so can't choose any options...

There are issues with Win 7 and Vista especially 64bit version.

I tried but unsuccessful however worked for me in XP.

There are some extra steps needed if you want to flash in Win 7

You can have friend have Windows XP? Even laptop also can.

All those steps take less than 5 minute.

Previous PR1.1.1, with all my apps, I have less than 30MB rootfs free.
Now this leaked PR1.2, with all the same apps (except Brain Party), I have more than 80MB rootfs free!!! Woot! Nice~

okay guys, i've uploaded the camera ISO issue that i've posted earlier.

i've no idea what happened to it and i hope once i reflash the official 1.2 it will be resolved automatically

I just noticed that my front camera is practically useless. Its very dark. Never tested it in PR1.1 so dont really know if its a problem lol. Only realised when I tried to make video skype call.
