hehe stays back to topic. because everyone keep saying iphone better even its not.
True, it WAS once very long ago, I have to admit, it make a BIG scene to the smartphone market, makes other smartphones look like rubbish. It's like a phone from far future.
But it's already outdated for so long, some people like just get into the trend and want an iPhone because everyone wants one. Not saying it's not good, it's still a good phone for many users, it's easy to use and have nice touch screen, and most importantly, tons of apps/games.
Actually, many phones has already surpassed or better than iPhone, but because not much people know about other phones or the technical part, so, people still think the iPhone is great. One thing iPhone has, popularity.
N900 on the other hand, is a very powerful device, BUT it may not be meaningful to everyone. WHY? Because some people may not need it or use it, and what they want is just a more "simple" phone that can call smoothly, long lasting battery, or have great camera, etc. For some people who prioritize on camera, suddenly the N900 is consider not powerful to them, but their meaning of powerful is different. It really depends on what the buyer is looking for and what he/she wants/prioritize. But in terms of technical, the N900 is one of the most powerful device available in the market, moreover it's very "open" with little or no restrictions. You get root access or administrator rights without the need to hack/jb, that's the right way, just like when you buy a PC, you get administrator access to your Windows XP/Vista/7.
For those who are looking for a smarphones, find out what is important for yourself, what you really want, and decide carefully, and finally, don't regret after you bought it and enjoy your phone.

If you're in the IT industry or understand technical details, you will know how powerful the N900's Maemo OS is. It's hard to explain to you, but previous I've show you a video review by Dining table, the ending part, the guys shows the power of the N900. In the middle part, he also mentioned those that might no be suitable to get this device.
With Maemo OS, you get access to X-Terminal out of the box, which is a console like COMMAND PROMPT for Windows. From there, you can do a lot of things, if you're a technical person or linux pro that is. Then if you're just a normal user who wants prefer a simple phone, then this phone is not for you. iPhone is the phone that covers everything, and only let you see what they want you to see, OR only allow you to do, what they allow you do to. But, it's enough for most people, plus it's safer for most people.
Besides, since the N900 is very "open", you can see just soooo many things can be done on the N900, people can customize the OS easily, add new things to the Desktop which allows you to modify somethings, customize, etc. Even the Messaging Conversations can be customize easily.
Even if you're not a technical person, the N900 still have a very unique, one of a kind OS, which have the "panorama" Desktop concept, and allow you to cuztomize the Desktop easily, creatively. If you check out other smartphones, their using HomeScreen which have a fixed template or location, there's customization but it is limited and have fixed positioning. The Maemo OS Desktop concept is just like our PC Windows Desktop, you can place icons anywhere you like, you can place it overlap one another, and the GUI looks nice to MOST people. There is also nice and smooth transition, and the GUI is more multimedia based, more stunning and cool than many other smartphone OS. (Example: Check out the Media Player Home Screen, those icons have nice glowing shadow, which looks cool and nice. Check out the progress bars which look cool and nice).
Anyway, the look and feel of the OS differes for everyone. Some people might prefer other smartphone OS look and feel. Personally, I find Maemo is unique and very interesting, it is what I want. Plus, check out the Maemo N900 official website, it looks so cool already, totally unlike other phone (at least for me): http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/
If it's not for you, don't force yourself. Look for the phone that catches your attention, and every phone has got it's weakness, see if you can accept it's flaws or weakness. Like N900, it's bulky and heavy compared to others, but I don't mind at all, plus it's a smartphone with loaded features like FM Transmitter, Infra, Keyboard, 32GB storage, etc. And also, the battery issue, being a powerful device, it bound to consume more power than normal phone (it's same like you get a sports car and you can't expect a great fuel consumption comparing with a normal car).

Can i copy the text from browser and paste it to somewhere else?
Yes, activate the "MOUSE". swipe your finger/stylus from the LEFT of the NON-DISPLAY area to the Display Area. You should get your MOUSE and also a button which you can use to active the mouse permanently. With the mouse, you can highlight text, and do other stuffs, which other smartphones can't. Use CTRL-C to copy and CTRL-V to paste
For an example, you can watch the below video (last part). NOTE: The below video shows the Flash demo on N900. With Flash, there're tons of apps and games accessible for N900, and with RESISTIVE touch screen and supporting the use of stylus, you can play those Desktop version flash game which requires accurate touch EASILY.
