still can use but your speed will be capped at 5% of your subscribed speed.

So if you using 5mb u get 256kb^^ pay premium price but get speed slower than maxis/celcom/digi HSPDA after reach 60gb.

I actually think the business plans is good for business users. Its relatively cheap for what you're getting compared to current soho packages for streamyx

I called Unifi helpline to verify this no CAP limit twit but found that it was load of crap. Its probably some marketing crap to bluff people into signing into their 2 year contract. Plus I checked the website was updated, but the limit is still showed on the packages.
The operator said that no cap limit is only for local content. International content still follow the original cap limit. I tried to argue with her about the twitter twit but she was very confident that the information she gave me is correct. I really want to sign-up but 60GB cap is just doesn't make any sense. whats the point giving us a ferarri but with only 60 meter worth of petrol to drive...

Oh really? The cap has it's pros and cons. Asian traffic is very expensive, if everyone has to go for unlimited, which in reality IS NO SUCH THING, they will continue to oversell, and we get more crappy internet.

It has been proven with previous streamyx packages, P1 Wimax, etc. So let's cut the crap and just ask them to raise the cap. And what in the world.. just because of twitter they have decided to take off the cap limitation.

Now because on the front end they removed the limitation, they are going to be more nasty smile.gif. And once again, this cycle goes and goes, people will start complaining slow internet.

Grow up people, this world is filled with scarcity, no one can give you unlimited resources.

Don't fall for the "no cap" line.

What they are saying is that there's no cap "FOR NOW", while the monitor usage. They just want to hook you into subscribing to the package, and later they can say "we decided to cap you at 60GB like we originally planned" and you have no say cause they are doing exactly as they said they would.

Its not like we would get to see usage data or be able to verify its authenticity

Its not about the tech, its about the expectations. They didn't implement caps for streamyx because of user expectations of bandwidth limits. They're not doing the same for HSBB because its a new product, so they want to implement the caps which they couldn't implement for streamyx.

No, unless there's an announcement by streamyx and written in black and white in the contract you sign. The website alone is not enough.

Can someone post the actual source from TM where it says you will be throttled if you hit more than 2GB per day? I searched in this thread and this is the first post that mentioned it. Searching google gives me yong kai loon's page. http://www.yongkailoon.com/

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 25 2010, 04:41 PM)
Even if they did that, I would still call it an irrelevant comparison.

Can you take usage data of 56k users to extrapolate the needs when you go on to ADSL? HELL NO

Sure, MOST people would not use up to 60GB a month, but MOST people also won't be needed the speeds provided by HSBB, their needs are more than catered to using 512kbps streamyx or even if they need to, 1mbps package. Even the 1mbps package is overkill for some.

The whole point of getting 5mbps is so you can really enjoy the stuff that requires higher bandwidth. Its like giving you a ferrari, with a speed limiter of 60kph. Defeats the whole bloody purpose.

Most of us here are fine with caps, and I would actually advocate caps because it keeps the whole system under control and a better experience for everyone. However the caps should be justified, a 60GB cap on a 5mbps line doesn't make any sense.

I calculated in the other thread, that if you average out the usage of HSBB to 8 hours a day with a 60GB/month (2GB/day) cap. To use up your cap, you would need to average your usage to about 900kbps for that 8 hours. So what's the point of getting HSBB? With that kind of usage rates, you might as well stick with streamyx.

I find no mention of 2GB daily limit on TM's terms and condition site.
