Cap complain, no cap also complain when UniFAIL throttle.
Malaysians like to ask for the sky but not willing to spend. I truly believe that the cap is more than enough for normal use. I like this part: QUOTE Which would you rather have? Have more quality Internet speeds within the allocated download usage you paid for or pay for so called Unlimited package but with high possibility of having your speeds throttled for the sake of “all UniFi subscribers receive equal service quality”. Yes we do complain but the low caps are really ridiculous.
Everyone has different needs for using the internet and tmnut should do something to cater for it.It seems like they wanna put low cap to save cost and as usual squeeze us like shit. |

QUOTE(Wan @ Mar 27 2010, 01:08 AM) TM said themselves that FUP will be implemented across all type of services they offer. They just don't know how much to cap us yet. They're trying to get peoples feedback by saying they would have caps on the current Unifi packages. Even streamyx won't get away from it. Goodbye download 24/7 I guess soon. this is one reason why we need to get the caps for unifi right. can u imagine what the caps on 1mbps streamys will be if 5mbps unifi is just 60gb?things will scale so expect streamyx to be 10gb or sumthing |

Any isp which is willing to come out with 4-6mbps is enough to nail them of their plans.
Believe me. P1Wimax, DiGi, Jaring, YTL, MetroFON if they were to start offering 3-5mbps services with similar/lower pricing is enough to dent TM. There's a serious flaw in TM's packages. They are very fresh in this broadband business. They just can't compete due to the high initial setup costs. |

I dont like the idea of capping, if they cannot afford to deliver the bandwidth, they should stop offering higher download speed. In fact we are paying at least 10-30 times higher than international Major Telcos. I still cant see how they cant offer unlimited with the small broadband speed they offer here while charging the rates where we should be getting 50-100mbps.

You guys are expecting for 1TB of cap. Common even some website packages do offer 20GB of bandwidth quota. But then if you're a heavy downloader you're screwed. For me and to be honest , I rather have the cap which is rather reasonable , umm say 75GB for 5Mbps
I dont want to suffer with slow connection just like streamyx because of certain group of self-centered folks who think that they are the only ones that are paying taxes and downloading things 24/7 ! |

Besides many developed country like Aus/UK/US already implementing the Cap policy to ensure the Internet service that they provide is at maximum level. |

EXACTLY my point to a lot of people. If its left free flow, users around your neighbourhood will be sucking bandwidth like crazy and your 20Mbps or whatever speed will be crawling when you need to use it the most. Then the backhaul will be 90% utilize by abuse users leaving only 10% for the rest.

A common youtubing HD content can easily outdo 75GB,I am fine with a higher capping if the DL speed is what it is like our neighbor, if our neighbor can do it so are us. Why should we be any inferior than them?I dont want to suffer with slow connection just like streamyx because of certain group of self-centered folks who think that they are the only ones that are paying taxes and downloading things 24/7 ! in future, when tm implement caps i wonder if its really going to be the internet utopia we are all hoping for
tm won be able to blame p2p users anymore...so i guess they will just have to say its the other servers fault, congestion along the links beyond their control, business users using all the bandwidth? LOL etc etc so in the end, we pay more, download less, lets hope network performance is much better and not marginally... if videos dont stream properly, and im not talking just about youtube but other video sites as well...i think i will be very disappointed. today streamyx throttles youtube at certain times of the day, unifi with caps better not throttle youtube at all since they already have usage caps... |

streamyx altho it says "unlimited"
tm does all kinds of stuff quietly to reduce the amount of bandwidth used eg throttling youtube at certain times and it affects everyone, whether you watch 1 video per day or 100 videos... in future, with reasonable caps, hopefully tm ceases all these... |

QUOTE(Wan @ Mar 27 2010, 01:59 AM) Maybe some of the users misunderstand the xgb/day thing, but some of us understand it well enough that it's not a daily cap tha we can only use 2gb per day. It's just a way to make a point against their monthly cap. noneed dedicated lineYes, bandwidth cap is a must since bandwidth ain't free. But their cap ain't reasonable at all for a lot of us. Some people may not use that much bandwidth, but there are others who would. They should offer different type of packages of the same package to cater all the groups and not just satisfy the 'browsing only' people. Please understand that bandwidth ain't free. And if you want unlimited, go get a dedicated line. There are reasons why they cost so much for those type of lines. Maybe in some other country it's cheap, but it's obvious from the beginning that it's not in Malaysia for whatever reasons. TM just need to make the cap bigger. Added on March 27, 2010, 1:05 amCrap. only cap + pricing issue. where i think tm & their product marketing group can come up with more interesting packages for us...
i really believe tm can give cheaper pricing plan (even less than rm100) for 5mbps IF they can take out iptv, ipphone/homephone ANNNNNDDDD lower cap, let say 20-40GB. they are people that will use this package e.g. my parents/grandparents. then they can charge value added price for iptv and phone. for those that really need download more, maybe tm can charge for the bulk of data downloads. e.g. RM10-RM20 for every 5GB downloads. i think with more packages, tm can penetrate more and get customers to their unifi. IMHO the pricing plan that's less than RM100 is the only affordable one by most malaysian. cheers. |
