QUOTE(herofire86 @ Apr 6 2010, 08:19 PM) hi guys, Wow! Great tip to extend battery usage, especially when you plug it in a lot, so you wouldn't have to take it off each time you're plugging it. in power option , the is this thing called dell battery meter where you can disable battery charging...kinda cool but it would be better if we can automate this, create a start uo script or somethin/ shortcut to launch... anybody know how? Thanks a lot for the info man! I too dunno simple scripting. *tehee* it would be really great though. |

I too dunno simple scripting. *tehee* it would be really great though. yeah, i manage to create a start-up script, but after think back, i thought that a shortcut to that application will be more appropriate......since sometimes you will require the lappy to charge battery (so automating process all the time to disable charging will cause another hassle when you want to charge)....the shortcut to the application should be somewhere around C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\battery.exe |

Vostro line seems to have lower quality screen, especially viewing angle. What's the screen resolution for 17.3" (1600x900)? Anyone has i7 model? Does the notebook get hot?

Does it gets choppy at some point (if high/med)We should put up a member list of Dell Vostro 3700 owners... BTW is the window 7 original? Would it be a lose for me if i were to ask my friend to give me "all 8 window 7 type" into my laptop? -,- He can do it lawl. This post has been edited by sil3ntlif3: Apr 7 2010, 02:36 PM |

QUOTE(sil3ntlif3 @ Apr 7 2010, 02:27 PM) What settings did you put? Does it gets choppy at some point (if high/med) most of the game i use auto setting... so all games run mostly at high quality, one thing that been lower down is resolution, you cant have 1600x900 resolution at high quality/med...We should put up a member list of Dell Vostro 3700 owners... BTW is the window 7 original? Would it be a lose for me if i were to ask my friend to give me "all 8 window 7 type" into my laptop? -,- He can do it lawl. of course the windows 7 is original (home basic 32 bit) check under your battery slot and you will see the sticker with serial there... a good practice is if you going to do some major changers/ in this case change windows, its better if you "clone" your system first.... if somethin goes wrong you can always revert to original state |

QUOTE(miahahaha @ Apr 7 2010, 04:24 PM) Right Click Computer > Manage > Disk Management > Right Click C: > Shrink Volume.... Yup, the method given is the proper way to do it. Can also use the Sofware (EASUS) that kucing mentioned Partitioning isn't so hard, just google for a guide and follow the steps thoroughly and you'll do fine. Which is how I found out how to partition/combine a hard drive. |

Hey guys,
wondering if this lappy is fully or partially made by aluminium? Any owner(s) care to share? Which area is covered by aluminium to be exact? Considering vostro 3400 vs acer 4740G. If Vostro is made by aluminium then i dont mind spending extra for better quality (compared to ABS plastics) Thanks. |
