ahha.. what color u ordered?
*
i guess by default stock it should be silver....

astria:

i cannot afford to wait longer, they might delay it as stated in the website, any changes to the order will cause delay up to 48 hours

spunx:

by the way, how is the anti glare screen performance? is it good? never tried one before...found something on youtube... hopefully it is not the same as the v3700

Yeah, the screen issue is true. Move a little and there goes the viewing, but I don't think its much of a problem. The noise for the laptop is very mild, the only noticeable sound is when I run a DVD and thats pretty much about it. Btw my laptop runs at 34-36°c average. As I said before, for the price of 3k, its worth every buck! rclxm9.gif

how does it go with gaming? i mean the gaming experience itself and does it effect much on screen viewing?

UPDATE: All Dell 3700 buyers who purchased their units from 18th March onwards(not sure about members who bought it earlier) will need to wait for a period of 1 month(estimated end of April) to complete their builds and delivery. So do update with your SA to see if you want a refund or willing to wait.
Sad news indeed. I just received the call from the Dell that due to the LED screen part shortage, later buyers(including mine  cry.gif ) will need to wait for the next shipment of parts which might arrive around 22nd April, means you'll be getting your unit by the end of month.
*
i ordered mine on 23 march, and i checked the order status on dell website , it says mine is in stage 4. shipped from factory

what does your order status indicates?

Woa... Moved already smile.gif
Anyway does moving around with this like from house to workplace/school very inconvenience.
*
not really,it depend on the person and the type of bagpack that you use, i bought a everki beacon too...it feels okay, not that difficult to move around. it does make you like ninja turtle(carring a shell on the back) kinda cool rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

by the way
my vostro 3700 kinda have this high pitch hissing sound.not really obvious but its there...does anyone share the same thing?

High pitch hissing sound? Do you have any idea what part of the lappy might cause that sound? Is it your CD drive? tongue.gif

Added on April 5, 2010, 1:02 pmBtw! Congratz on your Beacon purchase! smile.gif
*
ya...thanks to your review , i got that cool bagpack. im not sure where the sound comes from but its from the right side of the lappy...

pretty satisfied with the gaming graphics( for me) run modern warfare2 at 60 fps with 2x anti aliasing.

reading documents are very pleasing....

fingerprint sensor works great...easy to detect without hassle

one thing im not sure is configuring the shock resistance hdisk....when checked at device manager, it doesnt mention anti-shock or something...go to control panel, check on sensors also says no sensor detected on system...

Yeah! Congrats to those how've just gotten their Vostro 3700! I can't seem to upload any thumbnail pictures for the thread at the moment due to the upload issue in LYN. As for the FreeFall Data Protection, you can locate it under your 'All Control Panel Items' But it only allows you to either enable or disable it. tongue.gif
*
ya...its there...somehow i missed it before...thanks.... rclxm9.gif by the way, do you experience the hissing sound?

hi guys,

in power option , the is this thing called dell battery meter where you can disable battery charging...kinda cool

but it would be better if we can automate this, create a start uo script or somethin/ shortcut to launch...

anybody know how?

Wow! Great tip to extend battery usage, especially when you plug it in a lot, so you wouldn't have to take it off each time you're plugging it.
Thanks a lot for the info man! thumbup.gif
I too dunno simple scripting. *tehee* it would be really great though.
*
you r welcomed smile.gif

yeah, i manage to create a start-up script, but after think back, i thought that a shortcut to that application will be more appropriate......since sometimes you will require the lappy to charge battery (so automating process all the time to disable charging will cause another hassle when you want to charge)....the shortcut to the application should be somewhere around

C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\battery.exe

Vostro line seems to have lower quality screen, especially viewing angle. What's the screen resolution for 17.3" (1600x900)? Anyone has i7 model? Does the notebook get hot?

*
the screen is not that bad, i would say good enough and comfy. viewing angle a bit weak. screen size 1600x900.....temperature wise normally i got between 45-48 degrees...gpu at 50 celcious.playing games can go up till 68

What settings did you put? Does it gets choppy at some point (if high/med)

We should put up a member list of Dell Vostro 3700 owners...

BTW is the window 7 original? Would it be a lose for me if i were to ask my friend to give me "all 8 window 7 type" into my laptop? -,- He can do it lawl.
*
most of the game i use auto setting... so all games run mostly at high quality, one thing that been lower down is resolution, you cant have 1600x900 resolution at high quality/med...

of course the windows 7 is original (home basic 32 bit) check under your battery slot and you will see the sticker with serial there... a good practice is if you going to do some major changers/ in this case change windows, its better if you "clone" your system first.... if somethin goes wrong you can always revert to original state

Ok guys, i got this error after updating the video card driver. But yesterday i formatted it, and after used it for hours the colourful dots returns again. Any idea and anyone got the same problem?
*
Zaita,
i did update the nvidia driver too last week, and my system is fine. try to connect to external monitor and see whether its the driver fault , or the screen itself. have you contacted dell?
