First extended play in the glaring sun today. I see a problem. The interior screen is glossy and reflects everything. Eyes continue adjusting between focusing to the reflected image/glare and the screen. End result? Double image at first before eyes slowly adjusting and merging the double image into a cohesive 3D image. In games which requires split second reflex like RR3D this may cost you a position or two.

Should be tolerable if 3D is off. But the 3D slider is flimsy. Constantly sliding it off and on would wear it out.

Doing System Update for my Nintendo 3DS now.

QUOTE
Major changes from 1.1.0-1J updates to

● improved system stability
More comfortable way to enjoy, and will improve the overall stability of the system.

● Since when updating communications capabilities
We extend some of the ability to receive data, such as Oshirase.

● Improved network connectivity
And other wireless Internet access in some Nintendozon, sometimes can not communicate it made measures.

● "3D images of live music, " added
Delivering music is "Super Mario Brothers Theme" in, O. Kondou Hiroshi was responsible for the Super Mario series composer (piano) is playing with studio musicians.

That last bullet point is a 3D video clip playing "Super Mario Brothers Theme". Nice!

The pedometer on my 3DS says I walked 4200 steps today. No signs of new Miis from StreetPass. sad.gif

Very honest review..
QUOTE
Where the 3DS does trump the PSP in terms of control, however, is with its new analogue nub – officially called the Circle Pad. While Sony’s first handheld had a flat nub with imprinted grip, Nintendo has opted for a concave surface, which acts as a nest for the thumb.

We find this analogue nub responsive, with a quick and definite snap back to centre once it it’s released. We had three handhelds to play with, however, and one did notice one particularly sticky Cicle Pad, which didn’t come all the way back to the middle if pushed to its boundaries. It’s important to say that only one device demonstrated this problem – but it could be a sign of nubby problems later on in the 3DS’ lifespan.
Uh oh

QUOTE
Out of the games we play, Nintendogs + Cats boasts some of the most profound depth, as our pets roam around a large living room. Accordingly, the slightest sideways rotation – even by as little as a degree – causes flickering of the image and the occasional split-second blackout.

Can be fixed by software update?

Had a chance to test this out during my Hong Kong trip this week. Pretty interesting 3D this thing can generates but I gotta agree with the 3D slider. Its really really flimsy. Even a new one dat came fresh out of the box was a lil wobbly. Zzz

The 3DS doesn’t feel quite so expensive or solid as something like the Sony PSP. The D-pad, face and shoulder buttons are small with that distinctly ‘clicky’ feel, with clearly little room to move inside the body.

from same review above

Kyo...still no news on price??
