QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 28 2010, 09:29 AM) Its motion interpolation (in my opinion done wrongly) and its supposed to improve motion handling. I am unsure if it is available on the U series, I doubt it, check yr set and see if its there. From my best knowledge most new Blu-ray player (incl. PS3) will send 1080/24p signal to our V20 for movie playback.24p is to handle 24p material. Again, its motion interpolation instead of a direct pulldown (3:3 or 4:4). I am quite sure that the U does not have this and refreshes at 60Hz with 3:2 pulldown. Astro Byond send 1080i/50hz and PS3 sending [720p/1080p]/60Hz signal. Please correct me if I'm wrong, Sifus |

QUOTE(allycat @ Jul 28 2010, 11:52 AM) I emailed Panasonic and their engineer is coming to check my V20 this Sat. Kindly help to keep us posted on the progress. Thanks in advance. I think that those of you who are having motion blur, judder, artefact problems should email Panasonic. In this way, we can get better response and solution from them. If most of just keep quiet and just complain in the forum, I doubt Panasoic will take us seriously. |

QUOTE(yim1981 @ Jul 28 2010, 03:14 PM) Hook up with Astro Byond, PS3/XBox, HD Media Player, Notebook, etcthen will start face the so-called problems that we'd discussed here in this forum - which is the fun part but the sad part will be we're all paying the $$ for the problem.... QUOTE(abei2 @ Aug 2 2010, 01:47 AM) Hi My unit can't even play a single AVCHD video file (eg m2ts files) via USB or SD, any Sifu can help ?? Received my 50V20K last week finally. Got a question. Anyone encounter any problems getting subtitles to play from portable HD connected to the tv's USB port? Movie played fine except I couldnt make the subs appear. All my subs are either .srt or .txt which according to the manual should work ok. Any advice? aBe |

QUOTE(allycat @ Aug 2 2010, 10:23 AM) Just an update on the defects I've seen on my V20. The engineer came and saw what I meant. He needs to report to his professional member for further resolution, and will contact me again. Cool !I'll post further updates after their professional feedback. But seriously, doesn't anybody else seeing what I've been seeing on y V20 ie. motion blurring, judderring etc? |

QUOTE(allycat @ Aug 2 2010, 04:29 PM) Yes, it's original, bought from Amazon UK. Something to do with the PAL/NTSC signals ? I've one PAL original BD which I will try on this week, the rest mostly NTSC based BD. Amazon UK only selling PAL-based BD if not mistaken As for other BD player, have to look around but I don't think it's the problem. I don't see these defects when I use my Pioner with my old LG plasma. Added on August 2, 2010, 4:48 pmSifus, what is the folder structure for those AVCHD file to be playback via SD and USB ?? Kindly help. Thanks ! Added on August 2, 2010, 4:54 pmSee the site, it's stated as Infinite Black Pro for V20 Series - very misleading right ?? http://www.panasonic.com.my/viera/ This post has been edited by SteadyPana: Aug 2 2010, 04:54 PM |

QUOTE(allycat @ Aug 3 2010, 10:17 AM) Tks, anfieldude. Hopefully I have better luck with Panasonic Malaysia. Hi Allycat,I also hope more M'sian V20 users, who are having these problems, will report to Panasonic Malaysia so that we can get better response from them. Please don't settle for a product that is not living up to its claimed performance or having noticeable defects. Allycat The only problem (I suspected) most of the 50" V20K owner still having new unit and may not able to produce the same problem as you mentioned (but touched wood). NTSC and PAL also having different in input frequency (via HDMI) from the source (eg. BD, DVD etc) to the V20K, this also incl. of the source from Astro Byond (1080i/50Hz) May be Panasonic will need to further investigate on this besides other possibility. Good Luck ! |

QUOTE(allycat @ Aug 4 2010, 09:51 AM) Hi Blade63, I used to have a 37" Panasonic LCD (FullHD+100Mhz) since 2 years ago and initially not really get used to 50" V20K in terms of my eye....even though now I shifted to a bigger house Tks for the article. I did read it before when i encountered my problems with the V20. Yes, my BD player supports all the full HD features incl 24p. Going to get a second set of eyes to evaluate the V20 picture quality. Just in case my eyes are playing tricks on me Allycat |

QUOTE(eLife @ Aug 5 2010, 05:33 PM) Panasonic engineer just came to pick-up our 2-month old V20K. only 20+ hours of usage Kindly share your Serial # with me via PM. Thankshe claimed that ours is the first V20K to have a vertical line (top to bottom) appearing. is this line due to dead pixel? we also complain about 24p judder and buzzing sound from our unit to him. hope we can get it back early next week. |

You are right, it is 4 times the 1080i/p. |

QUOTE(PoorMan @ Aug 7 2010, 05:53 PM) What I can gather from AV forums is that the 600Hz has nothing to do with motion interpolation. It doesn't help at all to improve motion blur etc. Thanks. Well, it's not working for my unit For details, just google "plasma 600Hz". From the Panasonic site, it will be on if you use the Cinema mode. Added on August 7, 2010, 6:03 pm I have no problems playing my Canon's video camera SD card with V20K's SD slot directly. Folder structure: SD CARD | PRIVATE | AVCHD | STREAM | - All the MTS files Not sure if that will help you. |

QUOTE(PoorMan @ Aug 7 2010, 08:41 PM) What type of SD card do you have? Normal - 1 GB MicroSD with SD Adapter. Do you think this matter ?? I've tried 32GB SDHC Class 4 (Sandisk Ultra 2), 8GB SDHC Class 4 (Toshiba), 2GB SD Class 2 (Kingston). All can be recognised correctly. Also, what happens when you insert the SD card into the V20K? Mine actually displays the thumbnails of the videos or photos, depending on the contents. |
