This utility program works!  rclxms.gif

I've just tested this using a SD Card. Haven't tested on a USB pen drive yet.

Steadypana, you may want to look at this.

After some experimenting, I found out that if you move independent MTS files onto a SD Card, it does not work on the V20K ... very likely due to AVCHD folder/file structure.

Another thing is that DivX or Xvid videos can work directly on the V20K SD Card or USB pen drive
*
Finally it works but the conversion from MP4 HD to MTS - the playback having some lagging though. Again thanks to all Sifus who help notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Compared the U20 and V20 specs on Pansonic web. Noted the differences in the list but don't understand or can visualise the differences. Can someone who has seen both give feedback on the differences in layman terms ? Thanks !

just got our replacement V20K setup

Disabled '24p Smooth Film' and the judder is gone. we think the judder on our previous model was due to '24p Smooth Film' being enabled.

thanks to anfieldude for sharing how to bring up this '24p Smooth Film' menu.
*
BTW, if the playback source is not 1080p/24Hz, the "24p Smooth Film" feature will not triggered even though enabled, please correct me if I'm wrong, Sifus - anfieldude notworthy.gif

HOw do you off the 24p smooth feature. please advise
*
When you have 1080p/24Hz source input in HDMI e.g from Blu-ray movie playback from PS3 or BD Player, you should be able to see the 24p smooth film option in the setup menu - which you can enable or disable it. Please correct me if I'm wrong again sweat.gif

An update on the V20 defects.

Yesterday evening, Panasonic sent 2 engineers to check out the set with me. Very friendly guys and we sat down for nearly 2 hrs to check out several scenarios.

First we tried out Byond and my some of my BDs, the motion defects were clearly there.

Then they brought out their BD which show boat races and NZ's Iron Men. Truthfully, their BD show great picutre quality and no motion defects or judder at all.

So after some friendly discussion, it would appear that the problem lies with the sources. As to my question on why they don't appear on my old LG 42-inch, they explained that a full HD 1080p will show up more defects that are usually not noticeable in a 720p set, as there are 50% more pixels in a 1080p set. For a fairer comparison, they said it should be a 1080p vs another 1080p set. Well, since I don't have another 1080p set, we could not not do such comparison.

I higlighted to them the many forum discussions going on. They said that there are bound to be many such complains as there many cable TV sources overseas as compared to only Astro here. So if we were to have more cable Tv souces here, there will be more complains.

Well, with this logical explanation, I can only accept that the motion defects are not with the V20 unless someone else can come up with a better explanation or worse experience.

Also, Panasonic received only 1 such complain ie. me.

All in all, the Panasonic guys were professional in dealing with the motion defects.

Thanks for sharing the findings. wink.gif

For those who is looking to get a wireless wifi dongle, if it is too expensive or difficult to get it, I recommend to get a TP-Link WA500 access point (http://www.tp-link.com/products/productDetails.asp?class=&pmodel=TL%2DWA500G). Cost below RM100. This device converts LAN port on the TV and acts as wifi adapter for your TV.

Tested working on TP-Link ?? How about the cheap Linksys USB - also under RM100 ?? hmm.gif

Right behind SS2 Police Station and must go early as demand is too good and sell fast; always ask them to select for u ~RM22/kg.
At Saturday night, there is a stall just right in front of SS2 Hawker Center stair case selling RM18/pack.
Musang King flesh is usually small, like dog shit, dry and in darker yellowish; if packed, must open and check to ensure they are not mixed with XO / D24 which are brighter yellowish.

After this post, I'm afraid everyone will rush there before you. Ha! Ha! Ha!

All I can say is that I'm loving the 50V20K. I'm still running it on low contrast/brightness for the first 200 hours or so but the picture quality is still pretty amazing on those settings. Glad I went with the plasma.

Is there a bug that a firmware update needs to fix for the V20?

No idea but once the V20K connected to Vierra Cast network, it will prompt for firmware update (if needed) automatically blush.gif
