I'm looking for a 24" monitor or whatever that works for my PS3 as well as my MacBook Pro. Wanted to go HDMI for the PS3 output and DVI for the MBP. Ideas?

Hey guys, how come when I play battlefront on ps2 on my samsung hd tv looks worse than I play it on my old sony sd tv?

The samsung one I bought last year around october, whilst the sony sd tv I bought back in 08 but sadly it broke last year and got replaced by the samsung hd tv. I play ps2 exclusively for battlefront only as my ps3 has no backwards compatibility and I don't know where to find ori copies of the game.

u use the 3 colour av,audio red and white cable right?
hdtv sucks when using those cable. (standard definition?)

same goes to astro, dvd player,ect ( 3 colour cable)

hdtv + hdmi = eye candy

ps2 only support up to 480p. of course it will look crispier in crt tv compare to hdtv. nothing wrong with it.

Yes I'm using the standard red, yellow & white cable. oh figures, well i did some personal research and they said I have to change my ps2 settings to fit the hdtv? Worth a try.

it doesn't help much. thats only a setting to select either 4:3 or 16:9 ratio.
u can try enable progressive scan mode by holding triangle and "X" at the same time while booting the game. (only applicable if the game support progressive scan + if u using component cable)

//u can also try using component cable cus it will produce better quality compare to standard av cable especially when using hdtv.

dear gurus,some ps2 + lcd monitor questions wanna ask~

method found from internet are:

1) buy a component to vga converter cable
2) buy a lcd monitor which support sync on green(sog)
3) an Xploder HDTV Player dvd

- connect ps2 component to the converter cable,then connect to the lcd which support sog
- turn on ps2,change screen output to RGB
- activate Xploder HDTV Player n press triangle button
- press start to exit n start playing game

so my questions are:
1)is tis possible to use tis method on LG e2350T?cant find whether e2350t supports SOG or not from LG official website blink.gif
2)can i find the cable from digitalmall?
3)does tis methods really works?

currently look for a lcd use for pc+ps2+ps1+ps3(in future),lcd tv still out of my budget so look for a lcd monitor which is cheaper n better then now(playing games on composite on non flat 21"tv cry.gif )

I need some newbie advice on setting up ps3 to my samsung 2033sw monitor(b4 i purchase)
from the net I knew that i had to set up :
1. HDMI->DVI converter
2. My monitor support HDCP
hence the video should be no problem, but my problem lies on the audio side.
I would like to use my pc speaker (1 woofer 2 speaker) but i cant get enough info/understanding on how to set up this.
any advice o reading material given will really a big help to me

Also how does the PS3 output sound from HDMI if the monitor has no sound?

1. if ur monitor hv a audio out(not in must be audio out) port, just plug any headphone/speaker/earphones that uses 3.5mm jack

2. monitor don't have audio out port.. you must buy this 3.5mm female to rca female
then connect with ps3 composite cable(yellow,red,white) just use red & white cable

Is most of the HDTVs can plug using our 2.1 PC speaker system?

my sharp hdtv speakers sounds so good, i do not need some pathethic 2.1 pc speaker system.
