Complete suit, top and bottom. Padini can get?  brows.gif

Not sure it comes as a set, just picked up the jacket as I noticed the working cuffs.

My previous experience with padini shirts tell me to avoid them.

while researching for my suit, i found this

Washable simply by shower it only "Shower Clean Technology", hmm seems not bad

Actually how frequent you guy wash the suit? Frequently dry wash it seems going to be expensive and if this kind of self washable is cheap might as well go get it

Looking for some advise would this be suitable for our weather? Comparing to in house wool are they similar or is "acceptable"?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/350581686772?

Thanks!

This tech can be found here since 2 years ago. Marks and Spencer sold it before. It cost RM799 for the jacket and RM249 for the pants. I would not buy it simply because the suit looks cheap. The shell fabric is nice and almost crease resistant. Its light and seems like nothing much is done to make it a suit. The lining is thin and looks polyester. It is polyester mix. The shell is poly and wool. The price does not justify it. The last price i saw them selling it as clearance is RM399. I dunno about u but i actually washed my suit jacket with water and detergent before. But i used this

on my old second hand suit jackets. I tried soaking them overnight also. The shape and size will not change if u can dry it on a flat area. I tried drying it hung on hanger and the bottom suit hem and sleeves got pulled out of shape! So i could tell you how to dry it because i washed 7 types of different suit jackets with this. I do not recommend this unless u are cheap skate experimental like me. Woolite cost about RM25 at hypermarkets. Oh u need to dry it in shaded area. DO NOT DRY IT UNDER THE SUN! I tried drying 1 under the sun, the suit color faded on top!!! Damn!! This is another more accurate technique to use if u go the Woolite way.

Have faith Dovster, help is at hand. Making a search for "washing dry-clean only clothing" will give you a host of hints.

In my house we do not use dry cleaning at all, not even for my ridiculously expensive fine wool suits. We use Woolite and hand wash them, as we do everything else that is silk or wool. That includes sweaters, skirts, the aforementioned suits.

There are four steps we use:
    1) If there are any spots the treatmenst depends on the type:
if wine, food, anything greasy- lie garment flat, put a generous amount of any talc on the garment and let it stand for at least 12 hours. That should be done as soon as possible after the stain happens. Then brush the talc out. That removes almost all stains. For nastier stains there are a variety of cleaning sticks on the market in the US where we buy them, I do not know about Israel.
    2) using a small amount of Woolite and cold water (it MUST be cold water) gently wash the garment. Rinse it completely but do not twist it to extract water
    3) Block the garment on a clean white fluffy towel (s). For some thinker garments we often do that two or three times until the garment becomes dry. Do not pull or stretch, just place the garment flat on the towel(s).
    4) Before the garment is 100% dry iron. The ironing is the most critical part because the garment must be humid enough for the ironing to remove wrinkles, of which there are many at this point, but not damage the garment.

Ours work perfectly this way. We have not used a dry cleaner for many years.

Hard to say how will it wear in our weather. But 3.65m is enough if u are thin. Why not buy something you like locally? Where you can feel the fabric and negotiate the price?

Interesting I've read through the pinned thread and it seems that 3.5m should be sufficient for somebody with the height below 6', how would you define thin? or 4m would be the best bet? Put aside the length from my reading its also highlighted that most likely we average dudes would not be able to pick the appropriate fabric by "touching" them...

would definitely appreciate more input...

4.0M makes me a 3 piece, i'm a tad below 6'

so 3.5m should be good enuf for a 2 piece.

As for touching them, get a few ideas of what you want, say if u like a 40 mohair/60 wworsted, go to a tailor and ask to see some material.. find soemthing similar.. rub it all over your body see how u feel...

3.5m is enough for most Asian unless you happen to be a national basketball player.

Anyway a suit does not usually come into contact with bare skin often, so I don't mind if it's not silky smooth. I would ask the seller regarding the weave, an open weave vs twill would make quite a difference.

Lining actually acts as a lubricant in a suit really. Lining on skin when dry is ok. But when sweat, its sticky and pulls everywhere. But i dunno la what people think lining is for. I only know its to make the suit glide in many directions so u won't feel it restricting your movement. Also smooth fabric will lessen wear and tear on the shell fabric. Other people see it as social status. laugh.gif

How can I Dry Clean my wool jacket? How often can I dry clean? When do I need Dry cleaning? Can I just hang it in a well ventilated area to eliminate odors caused by light smoke or food? Do I need to dry clean to eliminate odors?

In overseas they have hot showers booths. What they do is run the hot shower in highest setting and heat up the booth. Then hang the suit inside the shower. Water turned off of course! Let the steam and heat release the wrinkle and smell. I think everyone have seen clothes steamer right? That one does the same thing. But its expensive. Or you can find iron that can iron upright with steam function.

It will go out of shape if you use those pull to even out crease method like they do in those demos. Basically u need to steam the suit jacket on the hanger horizontally and not pull it. Or steam it flat on ironing board. It should not deform or go out of shape badly. Not like u soak it in Woolite and dry it on hanger (This one do not do it. It pulls the lining way over the shell).

I found this picture of someones wardrobe. Woohhh...... so colorful.
