Afternoon Gentlemen.
How much does it cost roughly, for a suit adjustment (shorten it) in terms of the length
Thanks.

Hi everyone. I'm new to bespoke tailoring. I used to have a suit tailored in my hometown by my family friend tailor. The result is horrible! The tailor didn't even call me for fitting, he just measured and make it. Now that the suit is lost for good. I would like to get it right this time and after some advice by kotmj (thanks a lot!) has ordered some wool fabrics from britishfabrics. I've seen many forummers gone to ALT. I just want to know what is the price range for ALT for a suit with our own fabric. Hope to hear from you all soon!

I got a question, a suit from topman fits my shoulder snuggly, but the waist and chest might be a little bit big. should i get it and just do some minor altering from a tailor outside? thanks!

Waist alteration is doable for a competent tailor. As long as the shoulders are ok I'd say go for it.

QUOTE(lonewolf @ Jul 2 2012, 01:47 AM) hello guys If not mistaken some sifu in lowyat did mention before Thai suit are not worth investing. need some points for tailoring suits,...i m kind of suit dummy. Just wondering is the price reasonable?..cheaper than malaysia?.. whats the average pricing range of custome made suits in malaysia? care to share some numbers.. In malaysia, i think the basic custom made suit price is ranging from RM600-RM2000. Depending on material, some material and branded fabrics could fetch much higher price. How much you plan to invest on you suit ? maybe some sifu here could recommend good tailors to you and make your every penny worth. |

Hi I planning to buy my first suit, which brand can you guy recommend?
Today I go check out the Massimo Dutti suits, found one costing around RM900 for suit+vest+white shirt that I like. Now still surveying, or should I go do custom one? And how many days will be needed in order to get my suit if custom? I will use it when I'm in Japan, or should I get from japan there instead? I'm not very tall 168cm only but slim This post has been edited by popcorn513: Aug 12 2012, 08:30 PM |

What about HugoBoss ??
Make sure the fabric you choose fits the weather of the place you are wearing ? I think most of the time many would recommend to go for tailor made, because it fits you. This post has been edited by hochimama: Aug 12 2012, 09:13 PM |

Either in KL or Penang, ask the salesman or the tailor recommend the fabric ok or not? Not sure what kind of fabric suitable for Japan winter time This post has been edited by popcorn513: Aug 12 2012, 09:15 PM |

QUOTE(popcorn513 @ Aug 12 2012, 09:13 PM) Thanks will check out HugoBoss. If you wanna make suit that is going to be worn in cold countries, it should be wool. If u are expecting very cold weather, then it would be worsted wool. Actually the best time to get fall/ winter clothes (branded) is buying them off season. Like know suring sales, i saw Mark & Spencer have some for sale. Could get it a suit for less than RM400. Some orphaned suit coats cost RM120!!! Sadly not my size. If not sure take a few already. hahah. I dunno about u but its quite easy to spot a cold weather suit. Its heavier usually. Any custom made shop to recommend? An i once picked up a generic suit for RM350 (with working cuffs!) when i was looking for some shoes as well, at those "branded" warehouse sales. No kidding. I think the same factories are used. The most copied brand has to be Versace and Aquasuctum. |
