Avatar  director James Cameron, actress Sigourney Weaver, actor Joel David Moore and producer Jon Landau travelled to São Paulo, Brazil this weekend to plant the first of the million trees in the initiative supported by 20th Century Fox coinciding with the Blu-ray release of the film on Earth Day. The press event included a sneak peek of the Avatar  Blu-ray and some discussion of the upcoming releases.

The showcase played back five scenes from the Blu-ray on an array of Panasonic displays, including a mammoth 103-inch plasma. The result was allegedly "impeccable." James Cameron said that they took the time to guarantee that the audio and video quality matched perfectly what we saw in theatres.

Regarding the Special Edition, expected for November, Weta Digital is working on the new sequences. Also included will be extensive making-of documentaries and a record of Cameron's latest visit to the Brazilian rainforest.

Jon Landau hinted at a 3D version by saying, "Probably by the end of the year we'll have an estimated release date."

So, at last there is Special Edition. So better wait till December rather than buying now?

Why is that some does have slip covers and some dont, i mean the slip covers are not important perhaps, but its completes the package init.

I do understand that Toy Story 1 & 2 blu-ray has 2 types of packaging. One is BD case and one is DVD packaging but are they BD or similar to BD packaging [ 3 disc edition]

the DVD packagaing have 3 discs as well..just that the casing is standard DVD casing...it is done to suit those who have more DVD than BD and they wan to put it together with the rest of their DVD collection.....

What's the point of displaying the item package on store with slipcover when the blame goes to the suppliers? Why do u think Amazon not bothered about the issue?

You're right, some will disagree, perhaps most..but IMO with the slip cover obviously its looks great while on shelves..

I completely disagree with that bro.

I rather wait for all sort of "CUT" finalized instead of getting it now and spending once again for the similar movie.
Make no sense at all if we buy similar movie twice.

Im sure you agree with the opinion. icon_rolleyes.gif

Haha..

I hv no place to display la.. hence I couldnt care 2 hoots if it cums wif slpcvr or not.. jus as long as de disc is in decent condition..

I guess u can complain on not recvg said slipcovers but I would nt be too sure on receivin it.. I hv complaind numerous times on broken casings n hv yet to rcv replacement casings.. I would prefer they offer me a rebate/refund..

But then again I like buyin used n mint discs too

LOL.. nipples.. i get it now.. tongue.gif

I'm also a bit dissed about buying a BD twice just for the same movie... but with extras... Dunno why they just can't release one BD with 2 versions like my Chronicles of Riddick or Coraline...

Oh yes, i second your concern but not the suggestion. Probably i was selfish cos i've watched the film twice 2D & 3D. I rather wait..cos now its about USD 24.99.

I'll monitor if it goes down, then grab if possible. See ! Even i want to get ASAP. Damn..sorry bro for not agreeing with you..brows.gif hehehe..Just pulling your legs oni leh..

Btw, i think i asked if anyone has the new unopened copy of Casino Royale, its for a close mate , who requested from me. Please let me know if anyone has it.

Preferred US copy.

Thanks in advance

no worry..
everyone have their own preferences..
but i pretty sure 24.99 will drop when they have the stock... big titles usually will drop price near the release date...

Sorry to inform you that current rate is USD1 to RM3.2276. ohmy.gif

Based on bloomberg. blush.gif

Their think RM will reach RM3 to USD1 is mainly based on renminbi will strengthens in foreseeable future. What if China didn't follow their prediction?
