Hi all,
I'm using iPhone 3GS with firmware 3.1.3 and jailbroken with
Spirit.
How can I "upgrade" to iOS 4.0.1 without going straight to 4.0.2 as Apple directed?
I had already "made my life easier" with Cydia before and now it shows the following each time I open Cydia:
This device had SHSHs on file for iPhone OS / iOS: 3.1.3 4.0 4.0.1Am I correct to download the firmware file:
iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone 3GS from
this post?
Should I modified my Windows HOST file and add
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com in it to do this upgrade?
Should I enter DFU mode before I proceed with the [Shift]+Click? (I read I should do this if I want to downgrade, but how about upgrade?)
I think that's all the questions I need for this moment, wish someone with experience could help and I would like to thanking you in advanced!

Yes, you should modify the hosts file.

You must, put into DFU mode before restore.
