you didnt save the wrong SHSH.. it works this way: you can only saved SHSH 3.1.3 before apple stopped signing os3.1.3, means if you saved SHSH after os4/os4.0.1 out then it will automatically saved SHSH 4.0/4.0.1 instead of os 3.1.3.. doesnt matter what is your firmware..

yes, if you upgraded modem also automatically updated.. but it doesnt matter, because now os 4.0 and os 4.0.1 can be unlock already..

Oh i didnt know it work like that bcoz previuously i read ppl can get back to their original os just by restore it with shsh backup.. In that sense restore using shsh will be same with restoring using itunes.. Sorry so many ques since i just one month with iphone..

One more thing, i tot when u have carrier unlock phone just like mine it will be remain unlock when i update the os.. I just need to JB it..

And do i need to activate the phone again after the upgrading?

Yea, in your case will remain unlock cause yours is factory unlocked set.

If you wanna activate the iPhone after restoration, simply inset your sim card wil do.

when im trying to upgrade 4.21,suddenly the screen appear DFU mode. can on and appear DFU mode only. cant downgrade oso. if restore,appear ERROR 1611. tried everything,but still failed.

check your setting because your setting does not have MMS setting. check at pinned thread where there is a section in MMS setting. all telco setting is in there.
