hi. first of all i just got this iphone 3g from my brother. he bought it through maxis, and i am also using a postpaid maxis simcard. so today i restored the iphone and now at the emergency call screen after unlocking my sim card the phone just stays at the emergency call menu!

what should i do?? from what i understand since the original carrier is maxis and im also using maxis then i dont have to bother with the unlocking thingie which is not possible in 3.1.3 so surely thats not the problem?

any help please?

ps: ive restored the phone twice prior to this and it worked fine : /

yeah this is my 3rd restore tonight alone... been going at it since 7pm.. driving me crazy!!!! is it normal for the activation to take more than half an hour or something??

restore using DFU mode.

google and try how that works. it should be okay after that

already did that but guess i dont really have a choice.. will try restoring thru dfu again.. argh!

pleaseee help me i don't know how to use openssh. i've already search, read, watch youtube videos n tried everything but still i cant ssh into my iphone so i guess the only way left is to ask for help here.

so i already installed winscp, openssh & toggle ssh from cydia. in some youtube videos that i watched it says i have to download automatic ssh too but i couldn't find it anywhere.

i've followed the direction that says in winscp at the host name i have to put my "ip address", user name is "root" and password is "alpine", but still everytime i try to login i got the error that says "server unexpectedly closed network connection". i've already tried this for 3 days but still got the same error. can someone help me with this i want to know what's the problem n y can't i ssh into my iphone? n 1 more thing, before this when i 1st installed the openssh like 2 weeks ago n tried to ssh into my iphone using this method it worked, i just tried that once but now when i want to do it again it doesn't work anymore. pls3 someone help me?

Hardware Unlock is where you alter they hardware of the iphone such as turbo sim, or rewrite the baseband, where you really mod your board to make it work with any sim carrier, software unlock is where you play with the firmware without altering the hardware on the iphone..

this is my sad story.haha. i was running perfectly with my iphone 3g (3.1.2) ,then recently i 'd upgraded to version 3.1.3 in itunes.since mine overseas set (software unlocked),then cant be able to detect the sim.then any idea,what i need to go ,means the steps to unlock back the telco,thanks ( and for russian simcard also ) thanx a lot

My iPhone 2G gets very hot when charging..Even after the battery is full 100% and if i dont take the charger out,the phone will be hot..But after i take out the charger,in few minutes the phone will be cool back..Dunno is it normal or not?..Anyone has experienced this before?..

check your baseband mate .. 5.11 ... there's unlock for it ...

i think he was not use custom file,mean already upgrade to latest baseband 5.12
not any other way unlock by only software
only can done by Hardware + software

how many time you restore also same ,to made sure your phone is official unlock or is was simlock to other operator
give model here
also what message you get when you put in simcard after finish restore?
if you see message
The Sim card inserted in this Iphone does not appear to be supported.

mean you have sim lock phone
