guys, i remember someone here posted a picture of his 20,000km service slip. anyone kind enough to point me to it?

been trying to search in the v7 and v6 thread but couldn't find it. the search just feels so stupid to me.

i'm going for 20,000km service tomorrow morning, so just want to make sure they change only the required things for me and dun simply charge me. i remember it was mentioned that it's around rm400+

yesterday i went for 20,000km service. changed the ATF. it costs rm123, even more than engine oil

where did you check for the new rear lamp price? at SC?
i think out of SC can get cheaper. but need to wait till the spare parts shop has stock. my SA said the lights are manufactured by LA (Lighting Automotive).

so let's just wait a few more months and see if spare parts shop has it.

if just want the housing, can actually already get at outside market. even brothers sell it. for double din casing, it's rm90 if not mistaken. there's 1 forumer in automotive garage selling many item. he also carries single din and double din casing for persona. less than rm100

can install garmin xt, papago x3 and lokatoo all in 1 device
but garmin xt quite lag coz low RAM. papago is ok

use papago as primary, then garmin for backup when want to search POI coz got more POI stored in it. lokatoo, leave there for fun

Just follow the booklet. it says 10k service interval, so i follow it to ensure my warranty is intact. However, for the 5k between the 10k service, i go for simple service outside.

1k, 5k, 10k -> all in Proton SC
15k -> outside service
20k -> Proton SC
25k -> outside service
30k -> Proton SC
and so on...

This way, they won't know and they can't say I didn't follow the schedule and void my warranty.

you are wrong.
it is stated in the car booklet to use semi syn and the viscosity (forgot how to spell) is stated as well. I asked this with the SC before and they do say service every 10k and the car is not suitable using full syn oil.
in fact, even my friend's new vios service every 10K km although using semi syn only.

so to be on the safe side, i still go for simple service for the 5K between the 10K km service

I own an SE. Cruise control really works great. I uses it everyday to and from my office. Once cruise control on, the car will try to maintain constant speed whether uphill or downhill. When uphill, if the car speed drops and feels underpower, the cruise control will make the car drop 1 gear and increase the engine rev higher to maintain same speed. once that happen, you will see the rev goes above 3k easily. slight hill accent is ok, but i don't recommend use to go uphill like genting. once on flat road back, it will shift up the gear again.

it is very easy to use. there's just a light to indicate the cruise control on - either speed set (green) or not (amber). speed you clock at is not shown. it's only in its memory. you will know when your needle stay put at a place. but its really easy to use. On -> reach desired speed -> set. Then you can pause (by stepping on the brake pedal or use the switch) -> control your pedal manually -> resume to speed set earlier (using the same switch)

min speed for cruise control to work is 40kmph. max... not stated in the manual I tried 170kmph using cruise control on north south highway no problem. 180kmph, didn't think to try cruise control, just concentrating on the road.

what is adaptive cruise? i first time hearing it. mind to enlighten me abit?

had 3 passengers with me. even cruising at that speed, the car felt planted and stable. can drive with confidence. i was initially driving a 140kmph, but my gf ask why drive so slow. when i told her it's already 140, she says it feels slow . so i was like, ok and i stepped more and settled with 170

why want Proton gear knob? buy original Momo la. much nicer


refer to your car manual booklet. in it, there's a table showing the max speed for each gear you shouldn't exceed during engine break in period.

i remember, for auto 4th gear shouldn't exceed 130kmph during break in.

unfortunately mine is auto. if momo has for auto and with leather, i might consider change my SE leather gear knob to it

your fog lamp price quoted is for the new Persona Elegance or the old Persona? the price 150++ is for both sides or only 1 side?
My Persona SE, i buy original fog lamp at spare part shop only cost me rm90 without installation.

my car is now 9 months old and I still using stock brake pad. high speed braking is considered good for me. know that abs is working and emergency brake when floor wet also ok. but i try not to press brake unnecessarily especially on straight roads. prefer control the accelerator throttle such as letting go from a distance when front car is slow. i think this will help in FC
