primacy lc? i'm eyeing for that too for my next set of tyres to replace the stock ones now. typically how long can our tyre last for normal driving condition? i noticed that my front tyres thread are not as deep anymore. perhaps time to change tyre in another 5K km? mileage now already around 22-23K km.

lots of hype here before the official launch on the 32bit ECU. I remember i said that it could be good or bad because there may be reliability issue due to new ECU not properly tested and all. seems like the negative side of what i said has become true... although our old persona using 16bit ECU, but at least it's been proven ok for us

QUOTE(muslayer @ Apr 15 2010, 08:54 AM) Just want to ask, the fuel light on, we can still go how many km? if really no fuel the fuel light will blink or stay on? now on my 3rd tank after getting my car. reading at meter 7.4km /l (not sure accurate or not) according to the booklet, once the light comes up, there should still be 8 liters of fuel which i find it quite accurate. so if you can travel say 11km/l, 8 liter gives you another roughly 80km before the tank really dries up. again, ppl dont read the booklet...

today i was with my gf and her friends who came down from SG. drove them from mont kiara to cheras for dinner and then went the curve to have some drinks after then. after i parked in the curve, when we got out of my car, the friend asked whether this is a new proton car model. she said it's comfortable. i told her the model was launched in 2007, so not new at all. she drives a VW EOS in SG, so hearing her said that my persona is comfortable really means a lot and made me happy. i think the NVH, suspension and smooth auto transmission made the ride comfortable.
also, after sending everyone back including my gf, as i was heading upwards to kerinchi link from federal highway KL direction, i took the corner at about 70kmph using the inner lane. upon exiting the corner, i suddenly felt my car's butt kind of swerve outwards like a little oversteering. i straight away let go my accelerator and control my steering to counter it slightly and applied a soft pressure of brake. in about a second or so, i got the car's body to be moving straight again. the road was still wet after the rain. not sure was it because of my maneuver or perhaps the EBD worked, but I'm sure thankful that nothing happened to me and my car.

i suddenly have the idea of having brushed aluminium vinyl for my persona SE's center console/HU area and air cond vents housing. with Persona SE's dark grey / black interior with brushed aluminium, wouldn't it look nice? I found this: http://www.rvinyl.com/wrapkits/vinyl/brushedaluminum.htm

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Apr 21 2010, 07:12 PM) Just wondering...for the current Persona Elegance H-line, does it come with tinting (solar film is the same thing?) A bit confused here...because some sellers in mudah.my said it comes with solar film. But I couldn't find it in the brochure. not sure about Elegance but last time H-Line and SE comes with factory fitted tint. But it's totally useless. Better go tear out and put one set of your own choice

QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Apr 21 2010, 08:13 PM) tear off the original tinted seem like wasted, is it advisible to put 2nd tint on top of it? not recommended. it becomes too thick if 2 layer and will stress your power window motor trying hard to push up the window. moreover, 2 layer makes it very dark even if u put a tint with VLT 60 or 50%

although front minimum 70% VLT, it's really hard to find one in market that can comply to it.

QUOTE(arfaie @ Apr 26 2010, 11:31 PM) me too done 1k service today..using same oil. feels engine quiter n a bit pickup. maybe still early to predict Syntium 800 does feel quieter as compared to Mobil 2000 X2 that i used in for the past 2 services. Now using Syntium because SC dont let bring own engine oil anymore. However, in terms of power delivery, i think Mobil 2000 is better. With syntium, my car tend to need to drop gear to pickup/stay at same speed on a slight hill accent. it's obvious especially when i use cruise control. last time on same road, my speed 140 can be constant with mobil, but using syntium it has to drop to third gear on 1 or 2 stretch that's going slightly uphill to maintain 140.

Sorta like, the water deflects/sprays from the bottom of the side mirror... dunno how to explain!!! Yep, I noticed

QUOTE(khtee @ Apr 27 2010, 08:50 AM) is it better to get a manual or auto persona elegance?? I dont mind driving stick, but how's the clutch like?? how bout auto transmission, any problem with its acceleration, is it linear?? and how does it perform going up hill?? anyone mind to enlighten me??any experience?? thanks auto, i wouldn't exactly say the acceleration is linear. most car wont have linear acceleration anyway, usually only those turbocharged car with high torque that is widely spread across the powerband/rpm will have more linear acceleration. but in terms of going up hill, i have no problem at all going up to genting and cameron. just need to shift around D/3/2/L to maintain the power uphill

QUOTE(khtee @ Apr 27 2010, 10:41 AM) Thanks for reply OIC Do u need to shift it often? when going up hill or over taking cars?? going genting, definitely need to shift like a manual. cameron, less shifting but still need for sure. overtaking, just step on pedal and no need shift. it will auto drop gear and boost forward. you will get adrenalin rush doing ti

QUOTE(jasontantenghuat @ Apr 27 2010, 03:34 PM) DarkAngel: Does using the cruise system help in fuel consumption? it depends on what speed you set at actually. in ELITE/NKVE, i set at 140. at LDP, i set at 120. since i drive long distance everyday, so FC doesn't suffer that much. a full tank can get me around 420-450km easily. i believe if long distance and set at 110 or even 90, surely your FC will be very low

QUOTE(heavencloud @ Apr 28 2010, 11:04 AM) Since i myself been filling up caltex, it made me interested in getting the hsbc amanah credit card coz got rm5 cash rebate when fueling with caltex. But then, saw the promotion expiry date, 31 June 2010 it only applies to HSBC amanah credit card? i thought it applies to all. My non HSBC amanah credit card also got it. i have been getting the rebate for few months. it's rm5 rebate for every rm200 spent on petrol. so if spent 400, u get rm10 rebate. i have gotten rm15 rebate before too. guess i pumped a lot that month... but i noticed last months bill dont have the rebate anymore despite me spending over rm200 on caltex petrol. i do know the expiry date has been extended till 31st June

QUOTE(muslayer @ Apr 29 2010, 05:53 PM) Just want to know how is our car rating only, is it better or worst than waja. at least from the videos and pictures, the crash dummy (occupants) seems alright. the most important is the front drivers and passengers leg aren't squashed after the frontal impact.
