Thanks jeff and mark...
how long did u guys had to wait before ur stealth bomber took off from air base?

Added on July 10, 2010, 12:49 pmmark how much was ur transfer rate when u made wire transfer?
*
If your wire transfer clears in the morning on their side, it will ship on the same day. Usually it's one day after wire transfer is complete.

Rate is already posted above doh.gif rclxub.gif

hey guys, gentechpc havent called me yet, coz of weekend,so should i bank in first 2moro or should i wait for the call?
*
GentechPC will never call you. All transactions are done by email unless you want to call them yourself. Did Ken send you the necessary information for the wire transfer & the amount to be paid? You should get it latest one day after placing the order online through their system although I got all the relevant information for my unit with 10 minutes tongue.gif It really depends on when you made the order and the time following PST.

@Jeffrey, what software are you using to check you CPU temps? Just realized if you want consistent results and conformity we should both be using the same software and version. Post it here or shoot me a PM wink.gif biggrin.gif

Added on July 11, 2010, 11:42 pmCouple of factors to mention, my unit is on the cooler master Ergostand and it is elevating my laptop. Cooling fan is 40mm at max speed. Ambient temperature well, do a google search for KL temperature but I'm betting it's way hotter than where you are tongue.gif

Yeap he did.. was just wondering, because in the email they said they will call to confirm.. 2moro morning im gonna wait at the banks door until they open... kekeke..

my friend recently did wire transfer, he recommended maybank for TT..
*
Maybank had the best TT currency exchange rate compared to all the other banks in my area. Their service charge is also lower and it took them 2 business days to get the funds over to Gentech's account so I would recommend them too. I got a free KFC voucher to boot but I think I was lucky that day or the teller (lady) really liked me, LOL! tongue.gif

yups..i'm really..really hoping, there'll be selling this model at the airport...DEFINITELY i'll buy it there...no need waiting for weeks..hehehe..
But i really doubt it will....i mean..usually all i see is Sony Viao or Apple Mac sometimes Compaq...so far i dun see any Asus...hmmmm..
*
True, it will be a thrill if you could procure it at the airport due to instant gratification but here are some things to consider:

1.) The box is huge & heavy. It's no cakewalk to carry around, trust me. You will have to unpack it at the shop and immediately use your new ROG backpack to store the unit to make it easier for yourself to transport it, no fun if you have a lot of other luggage.

2.) Not sure which airport you will be at but aren't airports retail shops one of the most expensive places to shop. The rental alone for a retail outlet is a killer and the cost is passed down to the customers. Feel like bearing your throat to be garroted? tongue.gif

I've been an online shopper for many years and although I get extremely anxious and wary of the problems you will face, this experience so far is the best I've had. The wait time was not excruciating, it was easy to purchase and make payments and the service was impeccable biggrin.gif

i just made they payment, one thing that confuses me though, they didnt at all use the swift id.. he said he only needed the bank account.. sorry for being a noob here, but this is my first time..

exchange rate was 3.2300, i paid a total of 5757.12 including rm 25 service charge...
mark i guess the lady really did like u after all, i got not free gift.. lol..
*
Yeah, I faced the same problem. The lady did not take the swift code and the bank manager called me later for the code. My advice is to speak to the manager and inform him about the Swift code or your payment might be delayed. Congratulations and let's hope your unit arrives fast biggrin.gif

Hi,

I have been reading this thread and Alienware thread and I decided to get this laptop.
I have contacted Ken Lee from Gentechpc. Hope everything fine. Anybody using paypal to pay because it's easier for me compared to TT?
*
QUOTE(amir_kaldra @ Jul 13 2010, 05:51 AM)
I have contact him via email. I get his email from your previous post. So far so good. He really nice and answer all my questions thumbup.gif

Really want this laptop drool.gif . My 3 years old desktop has shown sign of aging. Cant overclock without suffering from BSOD. cry.gif

Do paypal have any credit limit? Never buy stuff over 200 pounds via internet. Quite scared.
*
You can use Paypal but you will not get the cash back discount. Furthermore I find Paypal charges rather dodgy. I have a dispute with them now as I paid Ken for my extended warranty through Paypal and the charged my card twice with some bogus charges, RM 3.20 X 2 = RM 6.40 mad.gif

It's really up to you but I would rather do a wire transfer and get some discount wink.gif

unboxing pics coming up soon thumbup.gif
rclxms.gif  biggrin.gif
*
Congratulations Bro thumbup.gif rclxm9.gif I'm excited for you. Don't worry about the unboxing pictures, you're going to need time to set that beast up. I'm still testing it and ironing out the bugs. First order of business, if you enable bass boost under the creative software, enable CMSS-3D so your system doesn't lock up. You don't have to mess with the CMSS-3D settings but make sure it is enable or you will lock the system up. Try it, turn on Bass Boost then go into control panel > Ease Of Use > Ease Of Use and if CMSS-3D is not enabled the system will hard lock. I'm down to updating express gate, the latest p4g hybrid and the ATI 10.6 reference drivers. I will post my pictures after that biggrin.gif

Nevermind, i pretty sure the Entire G53 will be very expensive if Asus Include the 3d vision glass. U can refer to how much G51-3D in gentechpc and compare with g73 already.
*
Agreed and this 3D trend is way over hyped tongue.gif

hi mr.viper the g73jh had 2 satellite plus 1 tiny woofer in front, mind if you know how to adjust the speaker between both of speakers. Tq!  hmm.gif
*
If you didn't uninstall the creative software that came with the laptop, you can use the mixer from creative to individually control the output from the speakers & sub-woofer.

argh.. i got 9 days left before i leave.. no hope it will reach me before that.. Wire treansfer still havent been cleared..

the question is, can my sister pickup the parcel for me on my behalf??
*
Yes, should be able if you pass her all the details for your parcel like shipping number etc, etc. Check with Poslaju to confirm and what are the requirements. I think they should release the parcel to her if she has the tracking number and a photocopy of your IC.

where can get the correct creative mixer? tq
*
The creative software is already pre-installed with your notebook and can be found on your taskbar for active programs (Bottom Right Icons). If by chance you have uninstalled the creative stuff you can reinstall it using the Asus Driver CD that came with your notebook.

I see. I had seen that price quoted in a particular website but dismissed it as an overly marked up price.

I am rather surprised it is priced that high. The last I checked it went for $1505. Even with shipping costs, it shouldn't cost more than RM10000.

Is there a reason for this rather significant markup?

ahh its the weekend !! time for me to have fun with my precious.
btw do you guys feel that it is super fast in booting up?
i dont really feel tat it is THAT fast..
but of course im already spoiled with SSD laptop (given by company for work purposes) so the improvement in this isnt that much great i'll say.
i'll have to test it out this weekend with hardcore games after removing the bloatware and customizing it to my needs.

PS: i havent enable the CMSS-3D yet. is this important? coz i read it has something to do with steam.
*
You need to enable CMSS-3D if you want to use Bass Boost or some applications will cause the notebook to hard lock sweat.gif

Did you check with your bank this week? Something might be off with the branch you used. I wired transferred Ken on a Friday and he got the funds on Monday, that's just two working days (Saturday & Sunday not counted because not working days).
