2. Was it volumetric or weight based?
3. What was the weight of the package from Gentech?
4. Did Comgateway repackage it to reduce the shipping cost?

Hello there . . . I can only answer the question #4. GenTechPC does not use the volumetric or weight based shipping. It is based on which freight forwarder that you choose. Normally, we assign USPS as our freight forwarder which cost us 149 USD.

As for the thermal paste, I have not heard anyone here at this thread who upgrade it to IC Diamond. IMHO, it is based on your preference as the stock thermal paste is good enough.

Lastly, I believe that no one here who bought the car charger for their notebook before. So, can't help you out on that matter.

1) Shipping charges = USD89.00, Insurance = 0.65% of Unit cost = USD11.27 hence total = USD100.27

2) Mine was charged by Volumetric weight. Volumetric Weight,as per DHL shipping, is the Volume of the packaging (L x W x H)/5000. You can check it at DHL Volumetric Weight Calculation[I]
Comgateway will charge which ever is heavier/higher...If your actual weight is heavier, it'll be based on that. In my case my Volumetric weight was higher.

3) The actual weight from Gentech Pc was 17lbs=7.7kg. My volumetric weight is 11kg.

4) Comgateway will only ASK you to repack, IF repackaging is possible or if you order multiple stuff and would like it to be shipped together. But sometimes, you can also ask them to repack for you, and will be charge.
In my case, they didn't repack my package.

i check from mucro asia itz only rm5k + rm200+ to ship here if im not wrong?

I'm with you on this matter. Many of the purchasers at this thread had bought their notebooks from GenTechPC as they have ready stocks most of the time. Thus, most of us chose to not play the waiting game and directly placed our orders with Ken Lee.

The price stated in mucro asia is not including the postage. So the price would be around the same, maybe evev cheaper if u buy it from gentech.

Kastam will never call you to collect it. Pos Laju will call you if your unit is held by Kastam. Also if you use USPS shipping option Pos Laju will not deliver to your doorstep. You will have to collect it at the nearest branch they sent your package to. Use the USPS tracking number at the pos laju tracking page to find where they sent your unit. Check the link below:

Not only stock mate, check the quote above. If you can live with horrendous to 0 customer support please go ahead by all means

For USPS, it will take around 1 to 2 weeks for the delivery duration from US to M'sia.

faster?? provided you pay on time...mine was a bit late coz they emailed me on Thursday (Informing Package receivd from Gentech Pc), but i was sooo busy, so i only made my payments (for shipping) on Saturday..soo they can only process by Monday....Now my DHL tracking estimates that my package will arrive on 16th/17th Aug.

Troublesome?? Not really... All done at the comfort of my home..hehehehe... all you need is a credit card..hehehehe
