Hi all.
I'm a newbie here.. and am suffering from GAS for the G73JH. I plan to order one from Gentechpc very very soon after reading all your good reviews on them.
I want to know, did anyone face any problem from kastam?
Thanks in advance

-EDIT-
OK I understand from the previous posts that it's depends on luck... so nevermind...

Anyways, personally I think I save up just a bit... I bought my Laptop G73JH-A1 = USD1625.65 (including bank processing fee, etc2) and Comgateway charge the Shipping via DHL = USD100.27 (including insurance, etc2)
Gentech PC charge, USD149 using US Postal Service for shipping....so I just only save up about USD49... But I feel DHL is far more secure than US Postal Service, besides DHL will send your package directly to ur door steps.

Kaizoku,

1. Could you give the breakdown for the shipping charges of USD 100.27?
2. Was it volumetric or weight based?
3. What was the weight of the package from Gentech?
4. Did Comgateway repackage it to reduce the shipping cost?

Thanks mate. This method sounds so much better since I won't need to roll the customs dice...

P.S. to all the G73 owners... Is it worth to get the IC Diamond thermal paste upgrade...? And did anyone buy the car charger? If yes does it work well?

heheh.. me noob with the questions... rclxub.gif

Hey guys. I TT'd to Gentechpc earlier this week but seems there was an additional charge along the line because the amount received by Gentechpc's bank was USD21 short (I paid Maybank's RM25 separately). Anyone else had this problem..?

maybe due to USD rate?? mine last time, just as they wanted to key in my tt, the rate changed (I specifically requested for the amount for my laptop in USD)...lucky for me the rate went down a bit, so maybank return back to me rm11++ hehehehe

hmm... seems too much to be explained by a difference in exchange rate..

Ken says it happens sometimes due to 3rd party fees. I'll check with maybank on Monday.
Anyway I paypalled the remaining amount so my unit will ship on Monday drool.gif

OK guys, just an update on my TT issue.

There was a 3rd party agent (Citibank) who charged the USD 21 as 'agent fee'. I made some noise at Maybank but no refund was given.
I am not sure why no one else here had that problem.. but anyway BE WARNED for any of your future TTs..

p.s. When doing the TT, I did ask the bloke at the counter whether there was any 3rd party, and his reply was along the lines of 'Saya tak tau.. itu dia orang mungkin caj'.
