Hi guys, a quick question, why aren't you guys getting it from Mucro Asia ? it's only 5.6 k + for g73jh A1 including shipping ? Or am I missing something here? I even saw a guy selling for RM 6800 in another thread for the A2 model !?
*
I got my A2 unit from GenTech PC just for RM5565.00 including everything. I have dealt with Mucro Asia before and they only replied my email with simple and yet short message: "We don't know yet"...As Jeffrey said, it's total different story if compared with Ken Lee. He replied my questions even in the late night ( California ) See..a lot of different. One thing that worries me now is WHEN THE KASTAM WILL CALL ME TO COLLECT MY A2? sweat.gif

That's why I chose to use a freight forwarding service (Comgateway.com) they use DHL. No need to worry much about custom checks, and confirmed it'll be delivered directly to my door steps..hehehe (a few of my frens bought laptops from US through Comgateway...no problems so far..)

hehehe..I bought at Gentech Pc.. G73JH-A1 = usd1625.65 (including bank processing fee, etc2) then had it shipped to Comgateway (US ground shipping is free) quite fast also...within 3 days Comgateway received my package, and then I had it shipped to me via DHL at a cost of usd100.27 (including insurance, etc2)...the problem was, i was late..the package and notification was given to me on Thursday, but i was sooo busy, i only open the mail on Friday, had all the payments done on friday, but had to wait till monday for it to process...had i done it on thursday, my package would had been on it's way by now....huhuhuhuhuhuhu... A few of my frens suggested to me this freight forwarding company.. (comgateway.com) they all bought their laptops through this company, no problems so far.. one fren even regularly shop in Amazon through comgateway. hehehe

Wow . . . quite a process there . . . So, you had yours shipped from GenTechPC to comGateway and assigned them as your freight forwarder? How did you notify them that the package is from GenTechPC and tell them to ship to you. Kinda confusing . . . rclxub.gif

nope..it's not confusing actually...If you go to www.comgateway.com website, there is a column for [I WANT TO SHOP AT:] where you enter Gentech Pc web address, and a new tab will open....u make your selection, etc2... enter the US address given by comgateway (for shipping)...once order number is given by Gentech Pc, you just entered the Order number in the given page (opened with the new tab)....and voila! ur done... Comgateway will also give u a Transaction number for your reference...once the package is received, they(comgateway) will notify by email, they will also suggest IF a repacking is possible (because DHL charge by volumetric weight OR actual weight, which one is higher)

So, they will have the ALL the package details from Gentech Pc.and once received, will process it accordingly.

If you can just go through the web page, you can find it quite simple actually.

The confusing part for me initially was calculating the Volumetric Weight and shipping charges..hehehe but it's all clear now...their Customer Service is also good and helpful, and most importantly respond quickly.

So, you have to tell Ken Lee that you do not want to use USPS but you would like to use comGateway? hmm.gif

Technically nope. I only ask Ken, If i can ship my package to a US address, but payments through TT from a Malaysian bank. He said and I quote, "Yes if you pay by bank transfer you can request to ship to anywhere you want."

Comgateway will give u a US address for the shipping... Once the package is received, comgateway will send it to any address anywhere..in my case here, malaysia..hehehehe

Plus is a bit cheaper than Gentech Pc brows.gif brows.gif Gentech charges USD149 (US Postal Service) and there's the posiblities of M'sian customs withheld ur package... Comgateway charges at USD100.27 using DHL with Insurance (up to usd10000)... and they send it right to ur door steps..

After reading upon this thread for 2 days, i am officially been poisoned by this laptop laugh.gif . What a worth laptop for its price, anyway i will be putting on my wish list this year, but dont know if i can get it since there are many things for me to buy, including sorting out my priorities for what i need and what i want, but anyway been reading all the reviews on internet, what i can say is that even though some people who bought it got problems with it, but still they manage to fix it or live with it, or the final outcome is to rma it hehe. This laptop is not for the faint hearted (I know since my lil sis been using an a42jr asus laptop which give her some problem, eventually she manage to live with it hehe)

Im quite interested to know more about how you make the transaction, when you purchased with Gentechpc you dealt with them first buy TT from malaysian bank right?, then after your item reached Comgateway, you dealt with them using TT again? the total actual price you pay for both transaction is how much(incluidng fee from malaysian bank for the TT service)? Anyway you can use the option where comgateway will buy for you (proceed all the transaction from gentechpc to comgateway) and you pay eveything to comgateway right? Will you save more by doing so? Did any of your friends who bought their laptop using comgateway use the second method, or use the method you use?

I bought my laptop through Comgateway...Yes I paid Gentech PC by Bank TT, but I paid Comgateway via credit card. You use Comgateway [Buy For Me Service] ONLY if the e-vendor/e-seller doesn't support payments via bank TT or credit card (because a lot of US e-seller, doesn't accept credit cards outside of US)

ALL my frens, bought their laptops using the same method as me, we use the [DIY] method (self payment). BUT, one of my frens did buy a night vision goggle using the [Buy For Me Service], comgateway charge 10% from the unit price (if I'm not mistaken) you have to double confirm with the Customer Service, they are VERY helpful.

Anyways, personally I think I save up just a bit... I bought my Laptop G73JH-A1 = USD1625.65 (including bank processing fee, etc2) and Comgateway charge the Shipping via DHL = USD100.27 (including insurance, etc2)
Gentech PC charge, USD149 using US Postal Service for shipping....so I just only save up about USD49... But I feel DHL is far more secure than US Postal Service, besides DHL will send your package directly to ur door steps. US Postal Service, if you're unlucky, the M'sian Customs could withheld your package, so it'll be a bit of a inconvenience. But all in all it's still cheaper than buying in Malaysia which price is RM10999! rite?

The battery life is not that great as the rechargeable batteries (brand = GP) which come along with the mouse is not good enough IMHO. It only can lasts approximately 10 hours in a single charge.

After that, I had also tested it with Duracell Plus disposable batteries which showed a better performance in battery life. I have posted it here.

Wow, I'm sure glad that I asked that question here! Thanks a lot to Kaizoku and Jeffrey and psjjl for their replies =), learnt a lot by just reading their posts lol.

In a nutshell, Mucro have bad customer service and even though you'll have to do a bit more to get your laptop from elsewhere, it's well worth the effort =).

For your information, all of the owners of Asus G73Jh in this thread bought their notebook from oversea. For example, US, Singapore and etc.

As for the recommended reseller for buying this notebook, I highly recommend you to buy it from GenTechPC which is a well known US reseller. You can refer here: http://1toppc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Sc...egory_Code=AS17

The price of Asus G73Jh- A2 would be 1549 USD + 149 USD for shipping fee (USPS) and also have to pay transaction fee which is around RM25 for Maybank and 30 USD for US bank. Hope that will give you a rough idea. thumbup.gif
