QUOTE(DrezzUp @ Oct 26 2010, 11:06 AM) Watch out for BIG liars around Grand palace n Wat po - the tuk tuk driver will con u to another place saying that palace is close. Yes absolutely. During my 1st trip there, we reached Grand Palace by taxi and there was this mother and son standing right outside. They kept on pestering us by giving us the bird food and asked us to feed the pigeons. After numerous tries, we fell for it. When we were done, they asked for THB1000 from us. Why? Because we used the bird food they 'sold' to us and it costs THB1000. We ended up giving them THB100 and told them take it or leave it. |

QUOTE(DrezzUp @ Oct 26 2010, 11:06 AM) Hi Nicholas Thanks for much for your kindness.. Appreciate so much..Latest update from Tom's post that the airport rail link now cost 150 THB (not 15THB).Therefore, if u have more than one person, I suggest u take cab from Aiport to hotel. Dunno what time is your flight is departing from BKK....do rememmber their peak jam hours is at 7am - 9am and 4pm -7pm.So dun try to take cab at tht hour. I dunno whether Central World is up for biz yet cos the last time I went in sep, it is still closed for renovation. Only Isetan is open. U can still go to Central Chidlom - undergarment or even Robinson. Ask them for discounts. Foreigners get discount by showing pasport. And sometimes Central will give 30% discount if u purchase 3000THB n above (Wacoal). If yr date fall over a weekend - do include Chatuchak. Watch out for BIG liars around Grand palace n Wat po - the tuk tuk driver will con u to another place saying that palace is close. And as for Naraya - u can go to Patpong (Sala daeng station) - there's another outlet Erawan Shrine, Platinum, Pratunam are within walking distance from PR place. The rest u may take the airport city line to Makassan to change MRTA station (Petchaburi) or Phaya Thai to change to BTS line By the way, 1. may i know wat is the best transportation to khao san road at nite (after dinner)?? is it near pr place?? 2. Can any1 intro me the best and cheap spa/massage near central world/ platinum Fashion mall and Pr place?? 3. Transportation to Temple Grand palace for pr place?? Taxi?? or follow tour?? any recomendation?? 4. How to go MBK Shopping mall from pratunam area( PR place) ? Thanks so much... |

Thanks so much... 2) Near Indira Square - Get out from PR Place walk towards right. there are a few. However look out for d one that look expensive. Price r the same with rest but they cleaner n neat look. U will know what I mean when u r there 3) Go yr self. Take apt rail link to Phya Thai then change to BTS .Take BTS to Saphan Taksin. Walk 5 min to pier. Take the local ferry taxi. Cost less than 20THB (I think) and get out at Tha Thien Pier to go Wat Po and then walk to Grand Palace. From Tha Thien Pier u can go across to Wat Arun (less than 10THB) just across. To go back is d same way. 4. If u r at Pratunam - just take taxi |

QUOTE(syumul @ Nov 11 2010, 09:20 AM) hello everybody.. If u pay direct d to AsiaRoom, u don;t need to pay hotel. However, hotel will always ask for deposit for keys just in case u mispalce it. They will refund u when u return the d key n some reputable or 4 - 5 star hotels will always ask for some deposit for misc. So if you give credit card they will just swipe yr for certain amount (but not charging yr card) and will tear off the slip when u check out. I normally request for it & tear it myself and take it with me.i gonna be in Bangkok in two month time..so i go through agoda and asiaroom for accommodation.. so got a question here..if I book my hotel through this website and pay direct, do I still need to pay the deposit at the hotel when i check in? Then from 150THB to 15 THB...I oso tot price went up d n I believe since he was there later than me. But then he rectify it as 15THB....So I guess is 15THB still remain. You will always have to place a deposit (cash or cc), no matter if your hotel stay is pre-paid or not; not for keys but for incidentals or in case you trash the room. Usually the cost of one night's stay. Then from 150THB to 15 THB...I oso tot price went up d n I believe since he was there later than me. But then he rectify it as 15THB....So I guess is 15THB still remain. There are 2 types of trains on the airport rail link: City or Express line. Only City is 15B (will go up to 150B later at a yet undetermined time). Express is 100B (to go up later as well). City stops at all the stations e.g. Huamak, Ramkhamheang etc all the way to Phayathai. Express non-stop to Makkasan CAT only. At Phayathai is the BTS link. If Makkasan, you would connect (poorly) to the Petchburi MRT station |

Hi there,
Does anyone have tips on where to shoot Wat Arun for the night shoots across the river? How about locations for higher view of the Grand Palace at night? Thanks. |

i miss Bangkok~ Went there in last August for a 5 days trip. Been walking alot under the sun, rain, moon and had managed to visit many places. Just that it was really too tiring and rushing as we had allocated only 5 days for both sight seeing and shopping, it was really not enough~ so, i would definitely go Bangkok again for shopping ^.^
Transportation: Taxi: Airport - Hotel (Surkhumvit Soi1) cheaper if u catch a cab outside the departure area, upstairs of the arrival hall. BTS: very convenient and can save lots of time. With a 1 day pass, can simply go anywhere u like~ Chao Phraya express boat: must experience it at least once, only transportation to go across the river to Wat Arun. Tut Tut: Fast and Furious, worth to try but not a wise choice of transportation in BKK. Places I went: Day 1 - 1) Chatuchak market 2) Siam Paragon Day 2 - 1) Day tour with MAMA Tour to Ayuthaya 2) Khao San Road 3) Cabbage and Condom restaurant Day 3 - 1) Grand Palace 2) Wat Pho 3) Mc Donald's Samurai Burger =P 4) MBK mall Day 4 - 1) Erawan Shrine, Platinum, Platunam 2) MBK again for Naraya Day 5 - 1) Siam Paragon 2) Wat Arun 3) Patpong Day 6 - Back to KL |
