Back from Bangkok on last Sunday.

Everything's fine.

Don't worry - just worry about not having enough baht to spend whistling.gif

Back from BKK yesterday night!
It's really really fun!
I wanna go again ><

Basically, I don't feel dangerous at all...
So many tourists in BKK!

be careful of scams around you expecially in tourist sites like Grand Palace and so on...

I was staying in The Resident Rajtaevee nearby First Hotel & Rachathetewi BTS Station...
Everything is ok except when I check-out from the hotel, the receptionist claimed that I'd drank the Sprite in the fridge & charging me 20 baht for 1 tin...
I didn't touch the fridge at all!
So I guide the receptionist to my room and check the fridge, everything were nicely in the fridge...
In the end, they return me my deposit in full amount...
After that, a pair of couple wanted to check-out as well...
Same thing happen on them! ==
Overall, the hotel is average if u want to find a budget hotel nearby BTS and not about luxury...

Hi everyone, I'll be travelling to BKK this Sep for 4d3n . Will be travelling with a female friend. Her trip is just shop, make tailored office wear, and eat.
Me, I prefer to see the cultural stuff, to eat, and to relax.

Currently still planning my trip but on top of my head, the itinery is as such.

17th Sep Morning - arrive at BKK
Then - Maybe checkin hotel makan and stuff
Noon -Sukumvhit Rd find tailor for office wear
Night - Siam Niramit Show and buffet

18th Sep Morning - Grand Palace
Noon - Shop / Jalan Jalan around Pratunam / MBK
Night - Night market and makan, Erawan Shrine whichever is nice

19th Sep Morning - Dont know yet, maybe go Safari? if not then just jalan jalan shopping MBK / Pratunam
Night/evening - go another night market? Erawan shrine? Embrace the night market culture? lol

20th Sep Morning - Collect Tailored clothes
Pack check out, then walk around? Hope hotel can provide late check out as our flight is not until 500pm
5pm - Flight to KUL

However, now I'm still scratching my head over where to stay? Would like somewhere that is convenient, located near MRT/BTS, able to find food at night, and near night market. My budget is around RM 120 - $150, for a place that is convenient and comfortable.

I've read through this thread and most people usually reccomend /stay at Pratunam area eg Best western, Baiyoke, Budacco, Citin. Based on my travel itenary, should I stay in Pratunam area or should I stay at I-residence at Silom?

Would prefer a place that is erm.. 'happening' during night time. (happening not in terms of clubbing happening, but more of food and small little stores happening).

Many thanks in advance!

Perhaps on 18 Sep (Sat)U may head to Chatuchak and that would have taken u one whole day to walk around. At night can go to Chinatown makan
19 Sep - U can go to Erawan Shrine,Grand Palace /Wat Po & Wat arun n shopping in Pratunam .

Pratunum would be ideal place if want hawkers food, night market, massage

If it is yr 1st time let the Tvl agent handle but if u r adventurous - self plan trip would be more exciting. well, it is up to individual prefereces.

Umm...of course agent need to earn money, it will be a bit higher cos they provide you service. And also depending on your packages n which hotel u like , tours etc are all factor in.

So up to you.If u want to experience self plan tour ...by all means go ahead. You have flexibility. No rush.

i will be going bangkok next wed. if the bazaar still there, then i can go ahead wif what i've planned earlier :-D
