Ya, I'd just checked out the Bangkok Post
The breaking news: Protest against temple listing

I'd booked my hotel last week when I thought that it would be safe to travel there after the red-shirt protesters already gone.
Who knows it comes again?  cry.gif

I'd changed THB in money changer today some more, the rate quite low at 10.08.

But, I dunno whether should I continue or not.
I'd booked the air ticket 1 year ago during AA 0 fare.  icon_question.gif

me too... will be going BKK from 7-12Aug and had just booked my hotel in Bangkok last week as well. I thought everything will be fine already therefore I cancelled my initial plan to go Pattaya instead of Bangkok.

Chayyee, when are u going? If the situation gets worse, i might just cancel the trip though I have been anticipating it since a year ago cry.gif

I'm going to BKK on this Sun morning.
Me too... I was waiting for this day to come since last yr!

I think it should be fine just avoid the rally area will do.
My uncle told me that normally the protesters won't hurt the tourists.

But I'll report to u the situation in there once I come back next Wed! biggrin.gif

I was there in April where the soldiers disperses the red shirt protestors in Phan Fa bridge and it was fine. It wasn't so fun because shopping complexes are closed and that's about it smile.gif As long as you stay away from the area, I don't think anything bad would happen.

This is nothing, a bunch of crowd standing on the road (the scale is so tiny). I was there in April and when we were walking, red shirts are all over. We even manage to take photos with a few red shirt protestors smile.gif Plus when I went 2 weeks ago, everything was fine. Thai people are not so terrible in general but if you guys are worried then don't go.

No way to cancel my trip!
Haha... tongue.gif

My sis just got back today evening. Big C is burnt down quite badly. Security is tight at the at d airport. They have to take off shoes, belt, wallet for security check

Other than that she went to Erawan Shrine today - no problemo

again, decision is in your hand as to whether you wanna travel to BKK

The board was shown for 10.25 but they gave a special rate. biggrin.gif

So far no death reported from this incident

Update from my colleague from Bangkok:
Yes it happen near Pullman Kingpower
THere's a group of people not happy with the small election result
So far it is still ok to travel to Bangkok

My Opinion:
Be very careful if in Bangkok
If still happen again I might just cancel my trip is better to be safe than sorry -> to Thailand : Sorry if things continue more will be like me pulling off

Just my 2 cent:
rough estimation each tourist in BKK contributes at least RM 1.5k on each trip(3-4 days) to BKK
if 10,00 pull off per trip means BKK is loosing RM 15,000,000 per trip -> at least !
