Ah~sorry about that...i ain't no expert when it comes to computer/internet mumbo jumbo and stuff lol.I did an ip check via ipconfig(am i doing this right?) IP - 115.164.115.13 I'm not using a router btw, i'm using wireless broadband(Digi) connected to the PS3 via a cross cable with my laptop.I did try entering the IP address manually on the PS3 like someone suggested but instead of getting the usual error i got the DNS error instead.Thinking back,I wonder why i was able to sign into PSN without any problems 4 days ago,i even downloaded 2 demos and messed around in HOME..weird.

normally 1st gen of bigger than usual hdd always have thicker form (12.5 mm), which is not compatible with ps3 internal hdd slot / cradle, but can be put externally + long sata cable
1st gen 500gb 2.5" sata had 12.5mm thickness
now almost (if not all) 500gb 2.5" is in 9.5mm form, which is compatible with ps3
i believe 640gb 2.5" sata is only available in 12.5mm form for now. i could be wrong though
the best way is checking the datasheet for the physical dimension of an hdd on the manufacturer's website.

Anyone try out yet? 750gb and 1tb still in 12.5mm form atm. as for other brand i've yet to confirm one. Also whether the drive is sata 1.5 This post has been edited by shahreza2000: Mar 19 2010, 05:41 PM
