Upgraded my PS3 hard drive recently. Want to ask how can i store m2ts files from PC to PS3? So that I can play it on PS3.

actually i just use ps3 media server v1.10.51

guys can advice me where should i put my ps3 slim? im planning to place it in my room since my room have one lcd monitor. i have no choice but only can place it in my room. but the big problem is my room is heading to balcony. dust always flow in and stick on my computer table and everywhere. should i close my balcony door when im going to turn it on? and after i use it can i cover the vents with some clean cloth or towels to prevent dust flow in? Thanks!

Hmm im not sure this is the right place to ask.

My ps3 slim is connected to my pc monitor using hdmi > Dvi and it works. Yesterday out of sudden, no settings whatsoever was touch, the display not coming out already. I still can hear the sound and my controller still working (judgin by the sound)

The thing is, when i plug the ps3 into tv using RYB cable, it work properly with display and sound. Now im baffled, because im not sure its my cable faulty, monitor or ps3 hdmi port spoilt. Anyone can provide some advises?

I tried the 5s reset thingy btw, not working :-/

what pc monitor model is it? max res?

also can u try another cable?

Anyone can tell the difference between HDMI to DVi cable and HDMI to HDMI?
Does it affect the graphics?

I dont have extra hdmi to dvi cable, and i am planing to get a hdmi monitor soon. So i dont think i will buy the cable just to test this out.

Just looking around see if anyone encountered this before. Will be sending it to Mid Valley SC this Saturday anyway since still under warranty.

Max res is 1440x900. Btw the monitor is working fine with my computer, using the same port.

It hangs while playing Battlefield bad company 2... I heard it's quite common..
But it hangs while adding a friend in XMB today...
I'm using PS3 slim.. 120gb

you can try to plug in to another display with hdmi input (to see if hdmi port faulty)

or you can let sony check it

hdmi 2 dvi - only carry video, so have to output audio from optical or multi-av cable

hdmi 2 hdmi - carry both video+audio

gfx still the same imho

Is it quite posible the hdmi port faulty? Cuz i have been googling around and so far no results.

Sony if check and end up having no problem, they wont charge anything?

if the unit is under warranty, should be no prob

The HDMI questions has been on in this thread for more than a year.

I have recently listened to a podcast that clarifies many things about HDMI and here is what they have to say:

Q: How many types of HDMI cables are there?
A: Four types, according to HDMI licensing: HDMI Standard, HDMI High Speed, HDMI Standard with Ethernet, HDMI High Speed with Ethernet.

HDMI Standard is able to carry a maximum bandwidth of ~4.2Gbps which is capable of delivering high definition content of up to 720p/1080i.

HDMI High Speed is able to carry a maximum bandwidth of ~10.2Gbps which has enough bandwidth to deliver a full 1080p signal and even up to 4K.

Q: Are expensive HDMI cables always better than regular HDMI cables? Am I going to get better colors and image quality?
A: The HDMI licensing board has defined a minimum specification for HDMI cables and, as long as it can comply with the specifications (delivering content up to certain bandwidth, etc), in other words, if a standard HDMI cable meet the specs, then there wouldn't be such thing as it underperform than other more expensive HDMI cables (better image quality, etc.) If the manafacturer says that gold plated HDMI cables have better image quality, then the manufacturer would have to justify its claims that upsells their product.

Q: I don't get any picture when connecting my PS3 to my LCD TV. Could it be because my HDMI cable is faulty?
A: It may be because it is faulty, and sometimes, not really the case. Some of the issues has been traced to HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) incompatibility between devices. Sometimes it could be solved by firmware upgrade (if it can be supported by the TV). One way to test is to try using another HDCP--compliant device such as a camcorder or laptop, plug it into your TV with the HDMI cable and test. If it works, then it may not be cable problem, but actually HDCP issue.

Sometimes, Sony could end up finding no problem. Maybe because it is the HDCP issue, and so happened that maybe for example they test it with a Bravia which doesn't have HDCP issue with your PS3 and it works with the PS3, they may conclude that there is no problem with your PS3.

Hi there, can I ask if is there's any difference between the bulky fat version of PS3 and the slim version of PS3?

My monitor has HDCP and its confirmed as previously still working fine. But well, if they did test on Bravia and confirm my ps3 no problem, i will just go straight to get myself a HDMI monitor LOL.

Now i just hoping that my PS3 is ok :-)

Btw they will test it in front of you or just hand in the ps3 and go back wait for news?
