For people that use the PS3 with LCD Monitors, this might be a silly question:

HDMI to DVI connection, if you want audio, do you need a monitor with integrated speakers?

Even if your monitors has speakers, using a HDMI-DVI cable will not grant you sound since DVI doesn't carry audio.
You need a direct HDMi cable to get audio.

But you can always do the "Y-cable audio" trick like shown in the first page with your PC speakers.

Your monitor doesn't have HDMI?
hmm.gif

You could check if theres an audio-in jack on your monitor or not, because otherwise... I don't see another way how your monitor could get sound.
If so, you still gotta result to the y-cable to connect your PS3 using the AV cable to your monitor, audio out from the AV but video out from the HDMI-DVI.

There are older/budget displays having the Green Audio In Jack but lack HDMI. For this, ps3roxor you just follow the usual steps in getting the Y splitter to convert the two Red and White Audio jacks to one single 3.5mm (IIRC) Green Audio Male plug.

Of course, make sure that display supports HDCP first because I have no idea whether your display is an old one or a budget model.

Yeap.
October 21st.

SG should get it in early December.

But 320GB HDDs are so dirt cheap now (really, they're only RM120)... if anyone who can't wait, just go ahead and pick up the 160GB white now.
