JVC sponsored Arsenal since the 80s until 99, if not mistaken.

then got Sega, then Dreamcast, then 02 and now Emirates.

Loved the late 80s JVC Adidas kit. biggrin.gif

Dreamcast (home) is SEGA (away).
The blue CL away kit is sweet but I don't think we ever wore it more than 5 times. Maybe even 3.

Ugh. This season's home kit has already gotten much flak due to the 'lack of white sleeves', although personally I thought it was the best looking home kit since 04/05. That fan designed kit has even less white on the sleeves and the excessive white part around the neck looks like a baby's bib.

Boring? Maybe I was pre-occupied while watching the match. It's interesting to see how Chelsea kept chasing the game.

Well, Chelsea showed more commitment (never thought I said that) but Inter GK was on fire. Petr Cech seemed to be injured.

and this one...

both got small cannon logo imprinted on the shirt (not visible on photo). The emblem and writing all embossed with rubber type printing. rclxms.gif classic. the thing is, the size is L (36-40) but i'm now XXL (44-48) hehehe..

Both were bought by my sis while she was studying in UK in 1990. the yellow one i got number 4 Thomas, cause he scored the last goal against Liverpool in the last minute of the last match in 1989 season that won us the title. biggrin.gif

btw, stoke on fire rite now. Better be careful this weekend but i'm sure we can win against them. Hopefully Gallas would be back. Fuller is quite a handful to handle, Sidibe also.

also.. Roman Paly scored 2 again. huhuhu...... rclxub.gif

Now that a much better jersey. People (Nike, Designer, etc) just need to get it into their thick skull that Arsenal has red coloured home jersey with white sleeves. Stop freaking tempering with that. mad.gif

Arsenal should play like Inter. Reduce attack & ball possession but improve finishing for goals in counter or direct playing style. Something AW should learn from Mourinho.

Inter proved possession is nothing if you know how to use the chance of scoring.

I personally think the gunners are gonna looked like a team of gay players wearing that kit. hmm.gif Just my opinion. Its kinda weird looking at a team full of tight shirts. hmm.gif

I feel AW doesn't need to learn anything from Mourinho. AW has employed the counter attacking style in the past to great effect, when he had speedy players like Henry, Overmars, Ljungberg, etc.

Its just the current players at his disposal are not suitable for that sort of game and therefore the change in style.

Thats true Nazwan.

If AW were to learn anything from JM, it would be how to built a defensive fortress. For all the goals that we score, i think we scored just as much as Man Utd this season but we've conceded a shocking 10 more than them. Similarly, when Chelsea won their first title under JM, their defense was literally a brick wall in front of the GK.

This season, i thought Arsenal was ok defensively with the capture of TV which really added alot of steel. I always thought Toure was one of the best in the job and in the EPL but the additional of TV clearly showed we lacked a hardman in TV with his no nonsense tackle, astute reading of the game and his speed and one that surprised me, his goal scoring ability. However, that proved not to be enough as we still conceded shit loads of goals thru set pieces which has been haunting us for the past 3-4 season. And, we made far too many defensive mistakes. Case in point, Almunia and his once every 15 games bad performance, Fabianski and his once every 3 games erratic performance and the once in a while positioning mixup. This has to be cut away.

And another thing AW could learn from JM, its the winning mentality. Ever notice how we bullied teams that were afraid of playing us and we literally hit 4-5 goals when teams give us too much respect. But with Chelsea and Man Utd, we were made to look ordinary and i'd put that down to the mentality. I doubt our squad is weaker than Man Utd when we lost in that 3-1 encounter if we look at player by player, but wat made the difference is that Man Utd had step up their game when it matters most and the winning mentality put them 1 gear ahead of the young Arsenal players. With JM in Chelsea, they were hardly any champions in Chelsea in the sense almost none of them had tasted glory, with the exception of the Porto players that came together with JM to Chelsea. But he instilled a winning mentality in them and not to fear anyone and evidently, they won in the very first year JM was there and they never looked back ever since.

Ironically, we have dropped our standards so low in the goalie department that a single save + ERROR FREE game by Almunia leads to props instead of criticism. If only we had Shane Given when he was in the bargain basement vmad.gif Will someone show this Spanish P*rnstar dubbing as a football player out of the door or at least let him complete with a first-class keeper (albeit not happening atm)? doh.gif
