Now Gunners can test themselves without Fab.
I agree with bro Kanelee that we still stand a big chance to get ourselves to the quarters. 1-0 will be enough to do so. |

Tomorrow against Porto will be another vital test. I can only say that if we lose tomorrow match, we might even lost in the title race.
Tomorrow match will highlight how good is Arsenal without our 3 most important player. Rvp, Gallas, Cesc I guess is time for somebody to step up. Gallas and rvp will out for quite some time. Cesc, I think minimum 2 weeks |

QUOTE(ivanau88 @ Mar 8 2010, 11:11 PM) Tomorrow against Porto will be another vital test. I can only say that if we lose tomorrow match, we might even lost in the title race. I beg to differ. The road ahead in CL is full of teams that are capable of battering our morale like in the bitter experiences we had with our league title contenders. So, crashing out is always likely. The league itself however is a different story - the coast is almost clear.Tomorrow match will highlight how good is Arsenal without our 3 most important player. Rvp, Gallas, Cesc I guess is time for somebody to step up. Gallas and rvp will out for quite some time. Cesc, I think minimum 2 weeks Therefore, failing to capture the CL won't translate into failure in the league. Not now at least when the league fixtures seemingly favours us. And having said that, I'm with those of you who are willing to sacrifice the CL for the league. 2 is better than 1 of course, but if we had to gamble, I believe we should pick the league. However, I strongly believe we will defeat Porto tomorrow. (Because, trust me, Bendtner will bayar his hutang tomorrow) This post has been edited by meaj: Mar 8 2010, 11:56 PM |

I never liked the word 'sacrifice'.Its all or nothing to me.We should try our very best at every competition.By doing that, the team will show the basic respect to the supporters. To bottle/sacrifice a match purposely is total disrespect to the supporters and football in my opinion. For the poll,I would take RVP!!

We have an equal chance of winning the EPL as winning the CL. So why not just try and win both?

For the poll,I would take RVP!! When the going gets tough, Le Boss might have to choose. He may not risk 'all or nothing' approach. Because this season, he can't afford to have 'nothing'. A measured approach should be the best. When the time comes to calculate our chances, we better be prepared to let go. But don't get me wrong, because I do pray that he won't have to choose. We seem to be enjoying a lot of luck this year, so who knows, maybe we'll have players returning from injuries just in time to fortify the squad and suddenly depth is no longer a question to conquer both the league and the CL.I understand the bullish mood in here after the Burnley victory. But there are some sobering results from past games against our rivals that says we should tread with caution. And honestly, we should. |

I actually feel that we are lacking luck this season. Injuries have been a huge bane, while most of the hard fought victories are efforts of blood and sweat rather than luck. Luck is when your opponent gives you a winning goal (Diaby vs MU) or your keeper decides to be Santa Claus (Luk vs Porto). In fact, we are the ones who have been giving others luck.I understand the bullish mood in here after the Burnley victory. QUOTE(frankiejay @ Mar 8 2010, 07:31 PM) Don't really need another winger. Even if we sign another striker, RVP can play left wing instead of center forward. You probably haven't seen Robin play left wing. It's appalling. Why change a player from his best position into one which he cannot function? Assuming that Chamakh comes this summer, he'll have to battle it out for a spot in the front 3. Robin's spot is cemented as long as he is fit, while Andy's very much likely to be playing on the left whenever possible. Which leaves the right spot that's up for grabs with Nik, Nasri, Theo, and even Tommy available for selection. |

Judging by the current situation, we had equal chances for both CL and EPL , I certainly felt its better to try to go for both.Back at the 08/09 season I could understand if we concentrate entirely on CL as we had busted our chances for the EPL title quite early on.As I said earlier, trying their best in every competition would be a respect to the supporters.I don't think any supporters would be happy if their team like gave up before the match is played eg MU vs Wolves 'reserves' earlier (well not as if Arsenal would do something like that when it matters..just using an extreme example and I hope you get my point I understand the bullish mood in here after the Burnley victory. But there are some sobering results from past games against our rivals that says we should tread with caution. And honestly, we should. I also understand the bullish mood after the Burnley match..especially what happened during the Stoke match. But now since we got chance, then I felt might as sure go all guns blazing, with great risk comes great reward(or lost QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Mar 9 2010, 03:28 AM) I actually feel that we are lacking luck this season. I felt that maybe the 'luck' bro meaj mentioned were the occassions when we seems totally KOed from the title race only for our rivals to fall down badly. Nevertheless, it was also due to ourselves(as you said, hard fought victories) that we clawed back to the title frame.I totally agree with you though of being 'giving' others luck This post has been edited by kanelee: Mar 9 2010, 03:46 AM |

We are certainly going to miss Fabregas but I think with Nasri great performance he is going to take on the role of Fabregas.
With Song in the DM side, Arsenal should be able to go forward every time with ease. Hopefully we can force Porto to go panic and win the game |
