Looking at our fixtures and the fixtures for the other 2 contenders for the premiership, I'd say, we have a decent shot at the league trophy. Most of the hard games are already out of the way for us.

Am I too ambitious with that statement? No. We just better win it if we want any silverware this season. Because I'm not sure we can go very far in the CL.

Got to agree with Dashken. Even the ref didn't see that coming. It was a smart move for Porto to have the 2nd player running up so quickly to receive the ball. Is there a rule that says the ref has to wait for the wall formation? I don't know. Henry used to ask 'politely' to take an early kick and the ref let him took it before the wall is formed. So, I guess, there's no clear rule on that. All that I know is, we need Mad Jens at the Emirates right now. Not to guard our goal, but to slap Fabianski senseless on the head.

Sol was seen hanging his head in frustration when the ref blew his whistle. I wonder, was it "Why oh why did I kick the ball?" or was it "Why the feck did you pick it up dude?".

Anyway, my expectation for the Champions League trophy is low. Especially after we ourselves have shown that we don't have what it takes when coming up against a formidable side. Well, my heart says hell yeah, but my head says maybe not.

QUOTE
If I can liken to it something else, it's speeding. The young guy in his car who goes out, thinking he's Johnny Invincible, until he careers around a corner too fast and mows down a child. He didn't mean to, but he did it, and he is responsible. "I didn't mean to run the kid over" and "He's not that kind of driver" aren't acceptable excuses in a courtroom so spare me the mealy-mouthed crap over Shawcross (who has previous - Stoke Sentinel, Oct 2007). - Arseblogger
Good analogy by the Arseblogger. Incident like this is bound to happen when you swing your leg at full force when you clearly see someone else is trying to kick the ball as well. That was just reckless play. You Shawcross sympathizers are just sick. Get well soon Aaron. Our thoughts are with you.

Was reading the news about Blatter discussing the effects of removing the offside rule to hockey with Leando Negre (the president for Hockey federation or something) and imagining what it would be like if applied to football.

Hmmmm... what it would be like indeed. 4-2-4 formation perhaps?

(But before you start calling Blatter silly old man, he didn't say anything about it actually. Just some wild imaginations I guess)

Player A slept with his best friend's girl - "Let's give him moral support. He is our hero. We don't want him to lose focus. His best friend is a wuss anyway."

Player B tried to amputate another player's leg and left him a mangled wreck on the pitch
- "He's not that kind of player. He's with the England team. Don't upset him now. That stupid Welshman have made him cry already. Let's all stand behind our countryman now. To hell with that club of softy foreigners."

Just what the hell is going on here? Moral values and simple logics turned upside down. I bet Tiger Woods wished he was English now.

I like the Tiger Woods part thumbup.gif

Anyway, it's subjective about the "Player A". But since he has nothing to do with us, I prefer not to comment further.

Back to Ramsey's case. I think the focus now is NOT Shawcross but the tackle. I am sure that most of us here wants the FA or FIFA can do something about this kind of incidents. At least, they should make a stand whether or not it is OKAY to break somebody's leg with a "late tackle".
*

Actually I was trying to point out that maybe it was all because of the preparations for the WC. I just couldn't believe it when I found out that the horrific incident at Stoke wasn't the major headlines in the news. And when it was, the logic was all messed up.

Well, maybe England have two high spirited and focused players now. But at the expense of a broken heart and a broken leg. Rooney can go and rob a bank or kill someone now. He should know that they'll let him walk away. "He didn't mean to kill that fella... that fella was stoopid for standing infront of Wayne when he knows Wayne was pulling the trigger...."

that must be really painful for both Dixon and Keown  biggrin.gif

Keown had a good nasty moment with Nistlerooy actually. I don't think it pains him much to put on RVN's shirt. Ask Nistlerooy to don Keown's shirt instead and let's see whether he'll do it.

But Dixon in a Spuds shirt... that hurts.

Walcott's rage may have stemmed from the bad comments he's received. As long as he keeps it under control, I'm cool with it. But to be fair, Fox's tackle was fair. And young Theo just have to put up with more of such tackles. English games have a lot of that.

Thierry Henry believes Arsenal can win the league. And so do all of us. The best part though is, Henry may be wearing Barcelona's crest on his shirt, but Gunner's blood still running in his veins. Check out his statement in an interview below:
QUOTE
"I know it's coming up to five years since we won a trophy," Henry told The Times. "But don't rule us out for the Premier League title this year.
And that comes from a man that has been plying his trade elsewhere. He refers to Arsenal as 'we' and 'us'.
Once a Gunner, always a Gunner.

On TW14, he had his head on the guillotine, but saved by one moment of brilliance. Lucky for him.
*

One moment? He ruled the right flank and positioned himself brilliantly during the game. His numerous assists were deadly as well. Too bad Bendtner didn't wear his shooting boots.
Theo shouldn't have pointed to his wrist when he scored. He should have cracked open his skull, ripped out his brain and scream to the world "THIS IS MY BRAIN!!"

Tomorrow against Porto will be another vital test. I can only say that if we lose tomorrow match, we might even lost in the title race.

Tomorrow match will highlight how good is Arsenal without our 3 most important player.
Rvp, Gallas, Cesc

I guess is time for somebody to step up.
Gallas and rvp will out for quite some time. Cesc, I think minimum 2 weeks
*

I beg to differ. The road ahead in CL is full of teams that are capable of battering our morale like in the bitter experiences we had with our league title contenders. So, crashing out is always likely. The league itself however is a different story - the coast is almost clear.

Therefore, failing to capture the CL won't translate into failure in the league. Not now at least when the league fixtures seemingly favours us. And having said that, I'm with those of you who are willing to sacrifice the CL for the league. 2 is better than 1 of course, but if we had to gamble, I believe we should pick the league.
However, I strongly believe we will defeat Porto tomorrow. (Because, trust me, Bendtner will bayar his hutang tomorrow)

wink.gif silently hoping we will march our way to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu though......

Too early to make that decision. When it comes the time to risk half fit players or stuff like that, then we'll decide.

I never liked the word 'sacrifice'.Its all or nothing to me.We should try our very best at every competition.By doing that, the team will show the basic respect to the supporters. To bottle/sacrifice a match purposely is total disrespect to the supporters and football in my opinion. For the poll,I would take RVP!!
*

When the going gets tough, Le Boss might have to choose. He may not risk 'all or nothing' approach. Because this season, he can't afford to have 'nothing'. A measured approach should be the best. When the time comes to calculate our chances, we better be prepared to let go. But don't get me wrong, because I do pray that he won't have to choose. We seem to be enjoying a lot of luck this year, so who knows, maybe we'll have players returning from injuries just in time to fortify the squad and suddenly depth is no longer a question to conquer both the league and the CL.

I understand the bullish mood in here after the Burnley victory. But there are some sobering results from past games against our rivals that says we should tread with caution. And honestly, we should.

Bro kimhoong haven't started with the penamaan calon yet, but I'd like to get on with the kempen pilihanraya...

"Undilah Thomas Vermaelen! He's been solid at the back and he's scored some respectable amount of goals. And thanks to his captaincy at Ajax, he seems to be commanding an attitude of a leader."
Can't ask for more from this lad.
