3 days worth of usage, I did notice the heat can rather get pretty annoying. My Asus K50 (which uses AMD) is far more cooler. Yes man. it is cooler. not the tech thingy(which you use software to check), but me as a user itself. The palm rest is hot really hot when gaming. but my asus palmrest remain cool in gaming, in fact cooler than my hand even. and if I do some browsing and chatting on the net, usually i would let my laptop rest onto my lap (hence the name laptop ) and the heat form this XPS is annoying....

the keyboard sometime gets hot too. under game. the K50 hot place is only at the top part (above the keyboard) and the bottom part. This XPS gets hot all over the place.

sxps16 hot all over the place especially touchpad and the bottom lid coz the bottom lid is made from aluminium.

if u want to celebrate Father's Day in the future, plz dont put sxps on ur lap ^^

still can, but with adopt child... or askd ur wife 2 go play wif other guy...

even any pills cudn't help coz heat from sxps will totally damaged ur **** production

oh shi* i've had laptop since 2007, and 3 years of this habit is not going to be easy to get rid of.

those have hot issue forget bout cooling pad, get a cheapskate USB fan will solve your problem

get some laptop with very very good cooling system will solve your problem without a need to change ur old habit ^^

Oh ya forgot to ask, how's the sound quality of this laptop?

They don't have speakers from Altec Lansing like Compaq..still alright?

for all these years, laptops sound quality is just so-so. I always used my phillips earphone. better clarity and bass reproduction.

for me the external speaker is better compared to my Asus K50, the obvious thing is this XPS got its own subwoofer, and i can certainly feel it.

i am putting the laptop on my lap, so i can literaly feel it.

played Burnout paradise, highest settings in 1280x720. using fraps get 30~35 fps. lowest i think is 29 or 28fps.

haha, i can even feel it when i'm typing lor. my sister always ask what happen to my laptop biggrin.gif but i still consider to get myself a new earphone coz sometime i want some privacy icon_idea.gif

r u sure?? coz my dad's previous laptop infrared port also not so small 1 wor... btw, i never heard ppl say sxps 16 got infrared port
