did the price increase when they upgrade the gpu?

from HD3670 to HD4670...they didn't increase the price iirc just for Dell USA.I don't think Dell even fancies the idea of choosing between 2 GPU eh

hmm i feel like getting the laptop now itself, don't wanna wait again despite the gpu refresh. im not a heavy gamer anyway, only play games like dragon age and rpg games, no fps or any of the sort. so the HD 4670 would be sufficient, no?

really suffice, but nowdays RPG itself have lots of games. new RPG sure is berat one. but for 2-3 years, I think its ok.

I play RTS a lot, so to speak. my 4570 is too underpowered to run anything with med settings. now have to cope with low settings. haha.

Hey guys, jz want to know about the BIOS.
I still using A10, while the driver support now release A12 already.
But i searched forum outside, many ppl complain this A12 got problem, that will makes your whole laptop need to be send to factory to fix.
Does anyone try it upgrade your BIOS b4? From A10 -> A12..???
Need to really confirm this statement before doing BIOS upgrade on my XPS 16.

Definitely can handle those games medium/high details.Get it while its cheap now at RM3799 or else you wanna fork out another RM200 unnecessarily?

Anyway,to spice things up,Studio XPS 16 can be destribed to be a "perfect" laptop - top notch build quality and design and excellent specifications(4670+P8700/i5/i7).What more could u want? sweat.gif

agree with you kytz. as long as you take care of your unit well, it will serve you well also. few OCs, heavy games wont hurt much. but if you plan to play games heavily, i would suggest a desktop.

Like mine, I plan to do a full skin cover/guard. Know any product that specifically caters this? I know InvisiShield for Handphones/smartphones.

Can u explain a little more about skinning/hydra skinning? It's transparent right? sweat.gif How much please...i heard its around RM100 shakehead.gif

Else,Kaizeru, i guess it would be using screen protector and using them as the laptop skin(covering lid, edges and the touch pad area....basically all the glossy parts)

Or skinning would be better hmm.gif

I would like to cover as much as possible, as I've paid a good amount of money for this XPS. skinning is the last option.

the throttling issue, I think dell is releasing new power brick and new BIOS for that, as what I've read in outside forum. norebookreviu i think.

processor. It is that when we use the 4 cored i7, the power is not within the 90W limit the power brick support, so the processor itself will limit the power usage by tuning down the multiplier. and the result, from usual 1.6GHz dropped to 933MHz. huge loss.

to use the 130W adapter, the BIOS must be correct also, if not, the XPS motherboard just draws 90W worth of power
