seems like 4g6 a good choice ea?

anyway, just to ask... how to adjust the servo that both arms is at 90deg...now my lama v3 the right side is 70deg like that... not 90deg..when all my trimming point on tx is at the center...

how do i adjust that, coz everytime i plug out, and use hand adjust..it readjust itself....

dont bother about 90 degree with the LAMA ... does not make any difference .. hehehehe
just trim to fly the best u can ... its more of an orientation trainer than anything else
if u trim and balance the CG of the heli well ... u can almost hover it HANDSFREE in a wind free environment

Added on April 11, 2010, 12:43 ama CP heli is always more stable than any FP of the same size
but it is oso faster more sensitive and more parts to damage and repair due to higher headspeed and design

a 4G6 is small .. hard to fly and learn ... but the small size has advantage in small forces and momentum so crashes have minimum damage
good choice or not is entirely up to the individual coz everyone learns at diff rate and personal constraints

Maybe I should switch to 4G6 and try to learn from there, to look for a suitable heli to start hovering.

Hehehe, I had a hard landing with BCPV2 this morning, this made the blade bang on the tail fin again and broken it apart. The wooden blade also wounded with some wood being chipped off ...... sigh ...... so hard to tame the wild-bird, my BCPV2 ......

Slapshock, did you see my reply in MRC about rcdream? It has been removed but i think i wanna tell you here.
So far I have no problem with rcdream but don't buy from a rc shop with the name start with 'F' in Cheras one. They sent me some parts with defect very obvious one, complain also never entertained .... this is my experience with them but there might be good one, it's your choice. However I won't buy from them although their parts maybe cheaper. mad.gif

hmmm ... maybe u can adjust your NORMAL curve a little to try and not get a boom strike so easily
mid stick and below just set ZERO pitch on your blades ... that way if u panic and throttle down immediately at least u will not be getting anymore down force from the blades ...

Have you touched your tail boom before after a flight? Does it feel warm with the belt driven tail boom?

Just found out about this after I do some testing with BCPV2.

Arrrggggg, I think I really need to get the wk2801 rx already ..... it would be much more easier to do this with a programmable Tx .... wink.gif

Oh ya .... Trex 450 is using that tail system. Same as 4G6 also, hopefully I don't crash the tail later on else more parts to replace. But for belt-driven tail it is usually easy to survive in a minor crash.

Errr .... I was talking about the belt driven and torque tube design only lah tongue.gif

As I know usually the torque tube design will strip off the teeth of the gear but for belt driven design, there is no such problem in a crash. I have not changed anything yet at the tail after few crashes except tail boom. Heheehe, hopefully I don't need to in the future as well.

But for torque tube, you will have to change already ........

well ... u can stick with BELT but gimme torque tube anytime !!!
u do not yet know the inherent problems with belts compared to torque tube but its all individual preference oso la of coz
some like belt some like tube

just one the major prob with BELTS .. DO U KNOW WHEN THE BELT WILL SNAP EVEN IF U DO NOT CRASH ?? hehehehehehe

Belts are for beginners like us.... as the cost of crash is low (since beginner will always crash)

Where else, torque tubes are for sifus... sifu don't always crash so more cons over there... hahaha

Am i right?? tongue.gif
That reminds me of going to change my belt soon...

when u fly ... try not to expect to crash maaa ... fly within your limitations and abilities ... then very very few crashes already
sifoo level that one is some MASTER fella already one ... me NEWBIE and BEGINNER ... hahahahaa

changing belt regularly without crashing will be more expensive than flying torque tube leh ... tongue.gif

Depends on individual needs lah I believe.

I do agree with cliffang, if you are beginner then belt is more suitable. Torque tube is for those who crash very rare.

The cost of a belt is cheap enough for beginner compare to a crash. If just changing the belt every month, I guess you will just need to do it for a few months only, then can be a intermediate or advance pilot after that like Qiw .... tongue.gif

what type of plane?
i also build one jet using foams...

HK450MT haven't assemble yet.. you really have good memories.
i fly the HK450 and change to a coptex metal head.....

Compy is still great to fly, just that small bird twitchy, but good for your hand.... hahaha....
by flying compy, you appreciate how stable the 450 is...

how's the other guy doing? cliff? is he expert already?

currently i am flying mostly BALSA warbirds .. might be getting a foam JET .. see how
currently i have a mustang GP46 mustang EP25 thunderbolt EP15 .. these ones WIP
sukhoi31 EP10 and a size10 foam low wing trainer are my current flyers
my ex planes .. chipmunk ep15 (this one exploded in mid air coz the firewall not string enuff for the torque in my motor) .. ultimate EP15 (this one killed by dsm2) .. skyartec cessna size 10 (given away for fren to learn high wing)

that compy ... things start coming out and breaking by itself .. my most major crash going in full speed in piro turn .. the rudder control rod broke in mid air (can hear the carbon rod go praakkk in mid air) .. WTF ????
then the thing went into the ground all the sand fly up like mini explosion effect .. hahahahaa
even the gyro and ESC oso kondem after the crash
got 1 incident my linkage flew out .. never crashed b4 heli .. luckily i was only hovering 1-2ft off the ground .. the thing slammed straight back into the ground
