Dopple level is always hard if you have the wrong gear,ie: too powerful.

I think you only can pass dopple level with friends,as all 3 of you knows what to put to prevent making your commander too powerful.

any experienced players who owned chaos rising care to write basic description of chaos units? their weakness n strength etc.

i don have the expansion, so its better for me to know the enemy to better serve the Emperor, purge the heretics!!

In short,at T1,beware of exploding Heretics and Grenade Launcher Heretics. Exploding Heretic destroys blobs very fast. Grenade Launcher have imba range and fires over walls. I think Banshees or Ravenor is the best counter for them,as they die very fast once damaged.

If you reach T2,get AV fast as most players love BC rush. They are imba, but remember they are vehicles, not anything else, even though they dont look like vehicles.

Other than that,i dont really know what to do.

Newbie here..
Can I install/play Chaos Rising without the original DOW2?
Chaos Rising is only RM99... DOW2 is RM169..
*
You should have bought Gold version that comes with both for RM150,i think,at Steam.

You only can play 2 Last Stand Heroes, CR campaign and Chaos only in MP. If you want the complete experience,i think you still need DoW2.

wooot. I just bought DOW2: Gold Edition from Steam for RM135.80. Looks like the conversion rate is quite good. (USD$39.99)
But now I have to download the freaking game from Steam right. Sure take very long one.... I heard 6GB?
*
Yeah,it's worth it.

I bought mine slightly higher,damn.

The download is 6GB for DoW2,and 1MB for CR. Smallest Steam game ever. laugh.gif

I knew it. I knew it was 6GB. Hmmm... I was thinking.. can I install an *ahem" version of DoW2 and then input my new product key? Is that possible? If it is then I can save the downloading time. Then I just download the 1MB Chaos Rising.
*
I doubt that you can do that as there might be cracks or something in your pirated version.

Also, the game have been updated so many times that probably pirates dont bother to keep updating the game.

Weird. When I downloaded DoW2: Gold, it was only 3.9gb.
*
i think thats probably the compressed file for DoW2.

You cant be downloading the entire 6GB.

wait..chaos rising is a 1mb file?
*
Thats if you have updated DoW2 to 2.1 la.

I bought CR after i downloaded 2.1. So,in the end,it only download a 1MB file to activate the content.CR contents are already in your computer once you have 2.1. Similar to CoH where you have ToV contents, even if you dont have ToV.

Hmm. very true. The pirated version probably old patch and full of problems.
I'll get the one from steam then. Anybody downloaded the 6GB before? roughly how long to download with streamyx?
*
I downloaded the 9GB CoH in Malaysia before.

I took about 8 hours to download the whole game.

I would put Tzeetch!!! biggrin.gif

Khorne is too bloody and violent.
Nurgle is too sick and bloated.
Slaneshi has too much food, porn and pleasure.

So,Tzeetch for me.As they are cleaner and have cool spells. tongue.gif

Not Adeptus Sororitas again, I would prefer a full fledge Inquisition faction with Adeptus Sororitas, Ordos Xenos, and Ordos Marleus as 3 different starting commander.

You guys play multiplayer for DOW2 CR here?
*
Yeah,i do,but not much.

Still mainly TLS.

Anyway, there is this Detailed Tool-Tips for Patch 2.1.

It adds more stats to your tooltip in game and it works on rank too. Giving you a more detailed view on a unit, upgrade etc.

QUOTE
To install, extract the DOW2_Detailed_Tooltips_v21.ucs into your Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Dawn of War 2\GameAssets\Locale\English folder. Important! While I recommend making a backup of the existing DOW2.ucs folder, do not leave the backup in the current folder! All text in-game will display errors. You've been forewarned.

For those of you unfamiliar with what this mod/project does, its a fully Ranked-compatible overhaul of the in-game tool-tips to display more hard stats and concrete data. Tired of having to look up on the Codex exactly what an upgrade does? Annoyed by ambiguous ability descriptions? Vexed by wargears telling you they increase health but not which one increases it the most? I'm no salesman or anything, but I'd strongly suggest you have a look at how Detailed Tooltips can help you out. You can check the links at the bottom of this post for examples of what they display and how they display it. If it seems like the sort of thing that would come in handy, give it a try.

Q: So, this isn't a mod? It doesn't break Ranked play?
A: No, it does not break Ranked and vanilla Dawn of War 2 is as vanilla as ever - except for the tool-tips. You can play someone without Detailed Tool-Tips and they'll see the vanilla text while you're looking the extra info.

Q: What extra info is displayed?
A: For abilities, you can now see the cooldown, duration, affected targets, damage, damage types, area of effect, and buff/debuff strength. Units now display their unit type as well as their armour type under their names to make the ability/weapon info more useful. Upgrades and Wargear now list any and all buffs and effects that take place on completion. The build tool-tips for purchasing a unit will display the units' speed, melee skill, and give rough dps numbers.

Q: What info is not displayed?
A: An important question, the most obvious and important stats that are not displayed are damage vs armour modifiers and accuracy vs size modifiers. These play a large part in damage per second values, making the dps numbers given in-game rather rough estimates, especially for ranged weapons. Thankfully both of these things are on their own pages over on the DoW2Codex (Damage vs Armour, Accuracy vs Size), and are on the whole rather accessible and important values are easy to remember or look up. The size of a unit is for the most part rather intuitive, with Infantry being Small, Vehicles being Large, Rippers being Tiny...however there are a few outlying cases, like Terminators and a few Commanders that can make things harder to remember.

Another important stat not directly displayed is Melee Resistance, which plays a very significant part in how melee battles go down. Melee Resistance reduces received melee damage by 40%, and it follows this general rule: if an Infantry type unit starts with over 50 Melee Skill, it has Melee Resistance. There are two exceptions: Plague Marines and vanilla Terminators, both units having 60 Melee Skill but not having Melee Resistance.

There are a few other stats and values that are either not displayed or self-describing. These include experience points, experience needed to level, bonuses gained from leveling, acceleration and deceleration, and ability ranges.
