awesome, from what i heard Warhammer 40K space marines Doesn't have Cover System
*
Well, Space Marine don't take cover as far as I know. They are an army of Chuck Norris.

but arent basically all DOW2 are already updated to retribution?
*
Nope, Retribution is standalone, because it dumped the useless GFWL which is a good thing. It is not backwards compatible.

Holy **** Eddie......get on steam....go to the Warhammer 40k: retribution page....theres over 10 different DLCs to buy. heres the list
Wargear Pack : for campaign x each race = around 10USD
Dark Angels Cosmetic Pack = 7 USD ? unsure ....(Only allows your space marine to look like weirdos during skirmish games/Multiplayer battle/exclude Last stand)
Last stand Wargears : Last stand only x each race.....around 2 USD...but can go up to 10 USD for the whole set i think.

All DLCs pretty much cosmetic and pointless...unless you have the money to spare.
*
Well, thats how the game industry works today.

Gone are the days where you buy a game and thats it. Now, every game you buy, there is a very high chance that DLCs will come too.

I got my Dark Angels DLC for free, so it isnt that bad in this case. The Last Stand DLC, i'll probably buy later on.

I wont recommend the Dark Angels DLC, it's just skins, even though some of the units do look badass in normal MP. Unless you are a hardcore Dark Angles fan, i wont recommend it.

Would imagine it as something like Men of War.... which could be awesome actually O_O

Hell no, Men of War is a good game, but also an incredibly annoying one, as it's like rolling a dice every second. There are too many random elements in the game that is very annoying.

I actually wanted DoW3 that is just Company of Heroes in space, or reskined CoH with Warhammer 40k stuff. Along with the consistent MMO-like metamap campaign mode for multiplayer. Typical ranked will still be in the game.

Marines are usually described as about 7-8 feet tall so between 2,1m and 2,5m, normal marine armor does not add that much so they arent like 3-4 meters tall. Termi adds a bit more since the head of the marine is quite protected. Like I would say 3 meter for a tall termi in armor would be a big max

In most novels and fluff they describe a random adult human to reaching a marine's chest.

True that if they copy MoW style they could add different munitions too....

Hummm I threw that idea at random at first but more I think about it the more it would be awesome... Not as "random" as MoW as Cheese said but taking it scale and all...
*
I dont think i'll play it if the units needs to have their own munition. There are a lot of units, and at the same time, you need to manage the munitions.

I rather have base building back than, munitions management.

The overly done randomness and munitions management really put me off from playing MoW. It's good, but it's not fun micromanaging all these things.

Give back base building, like CoH, then have a bit more vehicle focused combat with a meta map online campaign, DoW3 would be perfect. Suppression should work more like CoH which CoH have a bit of a morale bar.

Orks should have looting mechanism.

Nah, i really dont enjoy MoW at all, except in co-op, but i dont play co-op a lot.

Putting some of the MoW elements in DoW3 would be a deal breaker, especially the munitions and the excess randomness. Also the extreme side of hard counter.

The game wont be focused on hard counters or unit composition. Instead, just destroying your opponents munition source and hope they run out of ammo. Thats not fun as the game lies a lot on the extreme side of things.

Sure, tanks die in 2 shots of missile launcher is realistic, but that not fun at all, as this is a game. Not warfare simulator, where MoW is. A balance of fun and realism has to be made.

Give back Listening Post to prevent ninja capping, while having improved destruction capabilities of Essence engine. The DoW2's unique commander system should not be in the sequel, as it is getting tough to learn the game as there are more and more heroes and spell combination to learn. Also, not forgetting some combinations are nasty in team games and also difficult to balance. A CoH like tech tree system would be perfect though.

The vehicle destruction should be more to MoW, where MoW had a very detailed system, without all the randomness in it. I like it as you can bits of a vehicle destroyed, with is quite fun, especially the weaker back armor feature to promote flanking. Dont think DoW2's one is actually working as well as CoH's one.

DoW3 should have a larger scale and some base building, more to what CoH has now. Thats all it needs.

A combination of DoW1/2 and CoH is the best. It has to be Steam integrated, as i probably had more fun playing Relic games now than on Gamespy or GFWL.

Anyway let's wait and see what THQ will come out with ^^
We are making plans but not like we are the ones deciding.

But at least they seem to hint to a mix of DoW1 and 2 which could potentially be great, I am pretty confident in THQ, they havent really let me down yet for their RTS!
*
They did screw up DoW2 at the beginning until Elbert left to Blizzard.

so, can i play dow 2 and dow 2 cr online? im interested to play campaign coop of dow2 from original developers.
*
DoW2 and CR has dead MP, unless you have friends to play with or dont mind playing through the story solo, dont get the game. And you have to deal with the wreck called GFWL.

I doubt Retribution has an active multiplayer considering most Relic has either moved to CoH2 or back to CoH1. The SP campaign is good though.

i have never use gfwl. i heard bad things about gfwl so i steered away from it. unfortunately, i dont understand whats the problem with gfwl. maybe you could elaborate on that? the reason i want to purchase dow2 and dow2 cr is for campaign coop with my buddy. is it possible to get that in malaysia?

thanks.

Because GFWL is a hassle to use. Even registering it is a pain in the ass while the net code of GFWL is terrible.

Might as well get Retribution and coop with him in Last Stand mode.

You can find DoW2 and CR at the Steam store. Dont really recommend it as Retribution is a far better game.
